I don’t often comment, but now I must. This is one of my favorite Homeworthy videos ever. I love everything - but the art especially. I don’t buy retail either, and this is a fabulous example of a carefully curated home. I love it.
So fun!! Dr. Wiley was part of the pediatric group my children went to growing up!! He's so nice! I'm surprised I have not run into Sarah, being an artist myself here in the Richmond area, our paths should have crossed!! Perhaps one day!
A house full of personality- loved this one! How incredible she has all this art from her talented relatives, truly special. Also loved seeing a house that isn’t grande.
What a spectacularly well decorated home. This will be relevant in 50 years from now as it is today and would have been 50 years ago. I get the feeling that this lovey lady doesn’t really comprehend the extent of her talent. Exquisite and so tasteful.
Love her home. The Art and Decor which is so personal and they all have a story. This is how a home should be. It should reflect the personality of the owners. Not trendy, but it is warm, comfortable and loved.
I loved the tour because of all her incredible pieces, and she’s not afraid to say she doesn’t spend a lot. She’s incredibly talented and versatile with her art and collections!! Love her, love her home!
Lovely home filled with items of real meaning to her. I do not come from wealth or a renowned family background, but my home is filled with paintings done by my Dad, son, uncle and myself, family and ancestors' photography and my husband's poems and that's what makes it OUR home, so I can relate to Sarah and her love for the things that surround her. Good job Homeworthy for showing us this type of home. 👍
Oh my goodness! This lady’s artistic talent is amazing and apparently has been passed down through her family for generations. Her home is absolutely spectacular and she is delightful.
I have to admit that I went back and watched this episode 3 times now. Houses that you can feel through the screen and feel like a home with charm, antiques, detail and color are the ones that pull me in. This is what embodies a great episode. Thank you
I am feel so excited to see Mrs. Sarah Gibson Wiley talks fondly and proudly not just about her artist family but about her career in interior design and interior design fabrics such as chiffon, silk, organzas, which are fabrics that are used in all good quality designs but mainly in hospitality industry. I love, loved that Mrs. Gibson is proud of her extended family with humbled and delicately ways. ( at one point I thought, her house is just a hospitality venues, but as I hear and watched her talk about how comfortable and cozy is her home I love it too. Her home is filled with things she treasures and the furnitures, paintings, pillows, are placed very well and minimalist and beautiful esthetically. All of her needle points, doll’s coutures, her sawing experiences, paintings are to be admire at such a young age. Next year, in September I’ll retire from my job to begin to learn how to sew, crotchet, needlepoint and paint. Those are my hidden desire and hopefully, God will allow me to do it. Blessings for you and your family.🙏
I love her practicality in decorating! She cherished all of her dad's painting. This makes the home so heartwarming, even for strangers. I totally love her bohemian lifestyle
I adore your home. Beautiful art, soothing colors, personality, coziness, talent galore, and of course two sweet dogs to really add love. What a lovely life you are leading and thank you for sharing it with us! I'm inspired to create some fun pillows!
Loved Sarah’s home and creative, personal, warm and unique style. One of THE best Homeworthy tours to date. She and her home create a refreshing departure from less original current “designer” decor that is constructed by folks who aren’t as seasoned or real and rely more on trends or mass marketing vs. contributing a distinctive creative gift and aesthetic that feels bathed in natural authenticity and livable warmth.
So wonderful. Loved her, all the art work by her, her family and others. The stories behind all her treasures and just her love of her home and memories were comforting and inspirational.
Thank you, Sally! I found your home and your tour delightful. You dwell in a paradise of rich family history. I am so happy for you. I live in Milton, Ontario, Canada in a small, humble home, surrounded by my own family and friends memories. I feel rich beyond measure. I am grateful and joyful too. I am sure you enjoyed your dinner with your friends. All the best. Carolyn
Love love love this one! I've been collecting old (1920s-1950s) magazine and have framed the covers. This art fills our walls and my heart with such joy. Her artwork is fabulous!
Saw some other comments and must say this is also one of my favorites so far. The thought and creativity is so refreshing. The memory chairs are just so thoughtful. Love love love!
This women is so creative! I love her house with all her familly treasures and things that she made. It is fabulous. It is one of the best video on home worthy that I watched. Her house is a labour of love. Definitely.
Thank you for reminding me to decorate my home with things I love and not just things that are ‘in’. I love that you put family pictures throughout the house. Your home is so inviting and warm and filled with so many memories. Isn’t that what homes are for?
Okay so I actually read the book FIVE SISTERS!! It is one of my all-time favorite books. I loved all the letters that were in the book. Fascinating family you come from!
I love Homeworthy for their homes, but I absolutely adore these episodes where the lady of the house is super inspiring, talented and fun! So inspiring ❤❤❤
What an incredibly talented woman, Her home is truly a curation of her life and history. I loved it all, especially the room that sold her. The light, the windows, the vaulted ceiling, the fireplace!!!! Wow!
I like that Sarah has bridged together different eras of her life as well as the people who came before her with family heirlooms. She's making sense of her life and telling a complete story. It's layered and not in that faux English country house sort of way. She gets it.
This house has soul. Everywhere has little snippets of memories or loved ones past and present. It really reflects the personality of the owner...lots of soul. The decorating is pleasant for all people (visitors and residents alike). Also love the fact that the owner isn't pretentious and will admit it when she buys something at Pier 1. Nice video!
This is what a home should be- full of memories of good times and accomplishments decorated with colors and textures and people or animals you love. Don’t let what’s popular on the market dictate your decor. Give it a nod if you must but make it fit you.
I stumbled across this video by complete accident the other day and was in complete shock when I realized that this was my grandparents house!!! I visited them here when I was a child and celebrated Xmas in that "dark" living room (now dining room) LOL!! I remember having Xmas goose dinner at the dining room table with a portrait of my grandfather looking down at me and playing Parchisi at that kitchen counter while my grandmother worked in the kitchen. My mother said there used to be a tall set of pantry shelves on the wall where the trays are hanging. I don't remember that big family room with the sky lights. I think that must have been added on later. And your studio was my grandfather's wood working shed. My grandparents are the original owners who built the house and most likely knew your grandmother. My grandfather was the president at a local hospital. I absolutely LOVED walking down memory lane and LOVED everything in the house. It is gorgeous!!!
Oh my goodness! You must be Dr. Johns" granddaughter! I love hearing your memories! The big family room was added in 1981 by the Irby's. They may have purchased from your grandparents. I know all of the owners since then. I thought Dr. Irby had built the shed but I may be wrong there. Please, if you are ever in the area, stop by!! Sarah
Wow!!! Homeworthy Never ceases to AMAZE ME!! GOOD JOB, HOMEWORTHY!! YOU are Spoiling us with all your Gorgeous videos!! This Video ESPECIALLY i want to Watch several times over just to try Absorb a little bit of this incredible Woman's Style, Energy, Enthusiasm and Talents!! What a Long Line of Brilliant, Talented, Over-Achievers she comes from!! And she is Tall and beautiful to boot! Wow!
Wow!! I love every inch of her and her home. Thank you, Sarah, for sharing a bit of your life and family history with us. I’d sure love to hear more about what you do. This is real talent, right here. So lovely.
This is my favorite Homeworthy house ever. This is a very livable home and exactly my style: curated over a number of years with items that bring the owners' pleasure. That sunroom! Ranch homes are underrated, in my opinion. And the cute cairns add to this lovely video.
Alison - thank you!!!!!! This was a true delight. Sarah - my mother's name is Sarah and her nickname was Sally her entire life. I am an artist and this episode thrilled and delighted me. My favorite thing about you is your genuine love for HOME. Your home oozes with personality and style, just like you. So enchanting! I have shared this with my small IG audience so they can also be delighted.
Thank you Alison! Did I say that my daughter is a Sarah - Sally? Did not want to be “big” Sarah 🥰 I am glad you enjoyed. It was a great experience doing it!
Golly, what a pedigree!!! Charles Dana Gibson and Irene Longhorn for great grandparents! Nancy Lancaster for a great aunt. Nancy Astor, great great Aunt........ Of course the entire family is artistic.. Such an unpretentious, gracias lady.. Love, love this lady
You inspire me to add so many personal things to my home. Like your pillows, sewing and stitchery. Thank you for a wonderful video of your charming home.
I am also a designer and I only mention that because I realized immediately who Sarah is. Her great-aunt was Nancy Astor which means she is also related to Nancy Lancaster, owner of Colefax&Fowler. So. Of course she is a designer. I read the book on Nancy Lancaster who was named for her Aunt Nancy Astor, first female in Parliament. This is great, Sarah is charming, but naturally she would be. Thanks for this, Homeworthy. Sarah and I love the same things!❤
Love this home and that she mentions Stella’s and the Yellow Umbrella🎉. Food does taste better warmed in the oven. 😊 I love all the family stories and art. Thank you Homeworthy for making this video in Richmond Virginia.
I absolutely loved this home, it’s full of beautiful meaningful pieces which is exactly how a home should be, she’s also adorably charming and so creative 👏🏻😍😍
I enjoyed this tour very much. Interesting family history, no wonder she is very artistic. Love the Cairns…they are funny little dogs with big personalities. Best companies!!!!

I felt exactly the same
Me too...Loved this !
What a great artistic family. Who knew where the “Gibson” girl came from.
Most interesting, comfortable, warm, inviting home ever featured on Homeworthy! Didn’t want this video to end!
Agreed. Loved this episode.
So fun!! Dr. Wiley was part of the pediatric group my children went to growing up!! He's so nice! I'm surprised I have not run into Sarah, being an artist myself here in the Richmond area, our paths should have crossed!! Perhaps one day!
I will pass that along and hope to run into you some time!!
A house full of personality- loved this one! How incredible she has all this art from her talented relatives, truly special. Also loved seeing a house that isn’t grande.
Everything a home should be! Filled with personal treasures, delightful colors and obviously loved. ❤
What a spectacularly well decorated home. This will be relevant in 50 years from now as it is today and would have been 50 years ago. I get the feeling that this lovey lady doesn’t really comprehend the extent of her talent. Exquisite and so tasteful.
Very kind of you. Thank you!

Well said! That is for sure what makes a home a real home ❤️
This one was my favorite too, I loved hearing the stories on each piece.
Thanks to the videographer for showing us the things that the host was describing!
I love this home so much that if I moved in tomorrow, I wouldn’t change a thing. A very happy looking home. ❤️
Your delivery is so sincere and relaxed. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us! ♥
Oh my goodness! This lady’s artistic talent is amazing and apparently has been passed down through her family for generations. Her home is absolutely spectacular and she is delightful.
We do enjoy every bit of it! ❤
You are so right about the modern homes today, no wood, not warm, no cozy feeling. This home is full of both❤
Thanks! Certainly not a modern house but we live it!
Pressed the “like” button even before the intro was over! Knew it was going to be beautiful!
Please don't do that. Only I am allowed to do that 😂😂😂
I have to admit that I went back and watched this episode 3 times now. Houses that you can feel through the screen and feel like a home with charm, antiques, detail and color are the ones that pull me in. This is what embodies a great episode. Thank you
Wow, what an interesting selection of personal items. It’s wonderful to include so many beautiful things from grandparents.

Your comment describes the essence of this very personable home. And the art work, yes, soothing.
This has to be one of my favorite homes. Light, pretty, and so livable❤

Thank you for this nice note :)
TRULY LOVELY. LOVE THIS HOUSE. VERY WARM AND INVITING.
What a delightful person and a scrumptious HOME in the best sense of the word. Lovely!
The most enjoyable Homeworthy video I've seen, and I've seen a lot. Love Homeworthy, but Sarah Gibson is a real blessing.
I can not find words to express my admiration. BRAVO!
Beautiful house. I admire Ms Wiley for not installing an expensive glamorous display kitchen just for show! Thank you for the video!
Loved this home! It is definitely HER HOME. You would never think she lived there with her husband!
Haha! Don’t tell him!❤
I have to agree. It was all about her, her family and what she had accomplished which was incredible but not a home shared with her husband.
And yet, we've called women/wives homemakers forever and a day. Happy wife, happy life.@@alexandra2jerry
She is so incredibly talented! Beautiful home!
the book Five Sisters, about all her relatives is absolutely fascinating and I’ve read it at least 4 times.
Very much enjoying this home tour. Ms. Wiley is interesting and fun. Talented and charming.
To think this all began with learning to sew! Lovely.
This women is so creative! I love her house with all her familly treasures and things that she made. It is fabulous. It is one of the best video on home worthy that I watched. Her house is a labour of love. Definitely.
Thanks so much!
Great home, and I have an art print by her sister that I love. Very talented family!
Fabulous home and homeowner! I loved everything about this! What a treat to see this home and hear all the stories about the treasures inside.

My great-aunt left me a salesman's sample of a dresser. I use it as a jewelry box. It's one of my favorite possessions!
Sarah is a delight to hear and I love how she’s decorated this home.

So much fun, great tour, great host, great sense of humor. Thanks!
How fabulous! I studied Charles Gibson in art school. Love her home, so unique, and all the stories that came from Gibson’s life. ❤
Love this woman. ...and her house and dogs. How can someone say this woman is snobby unless they have not watched many of these tours
I live in Richmond and it's fun to hear her speak of places I'm very familiar with.
Golly, what a pedigree!!! Charles Dana Gibson and Irene Longhorn for great grandparents! Nancy Lancaster for a great aunt. Nancy Astor, great great Aunt........

So many things to admire in this wonderful home! But I just love the kitchen - love the wreath that Sarah made - that jumped out at me immediately..well,, actually after that gorgeous grasscloth wallpaper!!! 🍊🍋🥭🍭🧃☂🏵🌺
