@ No doubt student drivers, watched by their instructors, would get plenty of practice stopping here during their weeks of driving as a learner. One interesting thing I found about wet weather was that when the tracks were very wet, even with a W class, braking was fairly much the same as dry weather. The worst time of all was when you were the first tram over track where drizzle had just started falling. Another serious problem was dead leaves or dead blossoms on the track and a bit of rain starts and again you are the first tram there.
There's an ex-Transperth O405NH CR225L at the very start of the video at 0:00 . You can also see it at 15:06 . That is ex-Transperth TP1710.
@@Tpbusandtrainguy You do have sharp eyes! 😊

I used to take this trip home to the old terminus before Box hill was quicker than waiting 30 mins for a train from the city besides I love trams
Yes some of the suburban train services were quite some distance apart. A tram every few minutes would be a more attractive proposition in many cases.
tressteleg1 will be stopping at Kew Depot lol ehhe great video

Beautiful 👍🏻

Very scenic, roller coaster ride. Similar to San Francisco's hills.
Thanks tressteleg1😀😀👍👍👌👌
@@scottyerkes1867 The camera is deceiving. Certainly those hills are there, but they are much gentler than the hills of SFO!
@@tressteleg1 hopefully deceiving especially at 7:50 - with a bit of drizzle would be heart stopping for a new tram driver to stop as required.

The area at Glenferrie road looks the same as for 50 years ago. My high school was in Kew😉
@@peterausfranken Some parts of Melbourne seem never to change.
I only ride from box Hill to kew after dark. Much quicker ride and a lot less noise! 😅
@@mattwalsh1834 Well you are fortunate you can choose your time of travel 😊
