The Temple Mount refers to the elevated plaza above the Western Wall in Jerusalem that was the site of both of Judaism’s ancient temples. The site is also the third holiest in Islam (after Mecca and Medina) and has been a focal point of inter-religious tension for decades. At present, the site is under Israeli sovereignty but is administered by the Muslim Waqf (religious trust). Jews and other non-Muslims are permitted to visit, but Jewish prayer is forbidden there - a provision long contested by a small number of Israeli Jews who oppose Muslim control over the site. Violence has flared at the site on numerous occasions, and Israeli forces sometimes restrict access to Muslims at times of elevated tensions.
Why is the Temple Mount holy to Jews?
The Temple Mount, known in Hebrew as Har Habayit, is traditionally said to be the site where Abraham demonstrated his devotion to God by taking his son Isaac to be sacrificed. The mount is also the site of both ancient Jewish temples. The first, built by King Solomon, was destroyed by the Babylonians in 586 BCE. The second was built in the sixth century BCE and stood for nearly 600 years before it was destroyed and the Jewish people exiled in 70 CE by the Roman Empire. Jews continue to mourn the destruction on the fast day of Tisha B’Av. According to Jewish tradition, a third temple will be built on the site during the messianic age.
Why is the Temple Mount holy to Muslims?
The Temple Mount is known to Muslims as the Haram al-Sharif (the Noble Sanctuary) and, according to Islamic tradition, is the site of Muhammad’s ascent to heaven in the seventh century. Today, the mount is home to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the third holiest site in Islam, and the gold-topped Dome of the Rock, one of the most recognized symbols of Jerusalem.
The Temple Mount is closed to visitors on Friday and Saturday. The entrance to the site may be closed without notice for security reasons, so please be aware of this.
In order to enter, both men and women need to be dressed modestly. No weapons are allowed and visitors may not bring in any sacred Jewish objects, such as a prayer book or a talit. Visitors may be asked to show their passports so it is important to come prepared and ensure your passport is with you. While the complex is open to all, non-Muslims are NOT permitted to enter into the Dome of the Rock.

Also can’t enter where with religious items? If I, by the Grace of God, have a chance to visit (which I pray and dream of being there someday), but I never take my cross off my neck. It is a cross that has been in my family many many generations. Please do a video explaining the do’s and don’t of places visited so the laws are clearly understood.

What a beautiful day to tour the site of
Solomon's Temple
Location: GPS, precise
31* 46' 41" N.
35* 14' 16" E.
the stone where Abraham, was to offer a burnt offering, to the Lord.
After many years of conquering armies, the site of Solomon's Temple, was held hostage.
There is now a golden-domed octagonal-shaped building placed over the stone,
built between 0,687 A.D. and 0,691 A.D.
by the caliph, Abd-al-Malik.
When the Calif Omar accepted the surrender of Jerusalem from the Christians
in the year 0,638 A.D.
The Patriarch of Jerusalem, Sophronius, showed Omar around the
Church of The Holy Sepulcher.
It was at the hour of prayer, and the Patriarch suggested that Omar pray within the sacred walls.
The caliph Omar refused, saying
" If I prayed inside the church, thou wouldst have lost it; the believers would have taken it from thee, saying, 'Omar prayed here.'
Omar stepped outside to make his prayer, and the true Mosque of Omar was built there.
It stands to this day across the narrow street from the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.
Though your way of describing the faith of Islam about al-aqsa compound is quite arguable. But 5 prayers a day , & ascending to the haven was really in Islamic faith.
& I'm a Muslim .

It really does not matter who is in charge of the Temple Mount, as long as you worship God in your heart! Plus prophecy has said that the Jewish Temple will be destroyed twice and rebuilt three times. It has been destroyed twice and the next time the Jewish Temple is rebuilt on the Temple mount will be the last time because the Messiah/ Mashiach will be here. Then all will know the real truth all over the world, no one will be immune. May God be praised for eternity.
Alhmdulillah we have Al Aqsa and this is reality... And there is no temple mount.. this place is mosque and hazrt Suleiman built a mosque not a temple.. keep in mind.. our books say this will b mosque till end of world in Sha Allah
