2:43 Good to know that the DW334 has been withdrawn, but do you know what happened to the other two older DWs? I don't see any of them running anymore.
Enjoyable video, you never quite know what you'll get in photos until afterwards, always somewhat amusing with buses and their passengers as well. Get the full variety of life! It is very disappointing about Metroline with them pulling out of the 242 and I don't understand it if I'm honest. For a lower frequency route, it is quite busy, plenty of shoppers and school kids use it. I use it a lot as it goes through my estate but I would give the route even more use if it ran into night time like it used to! Can't help but feel like this is like the 84 all over again, where just don't want the route no more. Wonder if they'll give up on the PB1 as well (that route is fully funded by the council though), so then it's just London or the soon to start Manchester franchised work only. All I know is it's untenable for the 242 to disappear entirely, a large section (almost half) of Cheshunt plus Goff's Oak, Cuffley and Northaw would have effectively no bus service at all. Plus the route actually turns up whilst the 251 and 310 have pretty poor reliability. I'm hoping Central Connect run the 242 from January like they currently do on Sunday's right now as they seem pretty reliable and their recent expansion around Waltham Abbey and Harlow has made a positive difference. Nice new buses on their routes too. Something needs to change about the way our buses are run in most of the country though, it clearly isn't working well right now.
I'm fairly sure they are giving up the PB1 as well, but I'm equally sure that both routes are to be offered for tender by Herts County Council. I would expect Central Connect to take them on, or possibly Uno.
@@BristolRE Wow thanks for that information. This is a weird situation then, they would run a bus garage in a town that they would no longer serve with any of their tendered routes. Shouldn't be allowed to be honest. Frustrating enough whenever I see an empty 317 going through Cuffley. Also unless they are better now, better not be Uno, they were awful before on the Sunday 242 and turned up with any tatty thing. Central Connect would be better. Also hoping Hertfordshire in coordination with neighbouring counties goes for franchising in the coming years.
@@aaronsmith9209 Yes, I can imagine how frustrating seeing all those empty buses - the same for people wanting to go to Barnet with all those 263's and 134's out of service. Unfortunately this is all a direct result of privatisation.
@@BristolRE I agree with you, privatisation seemed to create these weird anomalies all over the place. It certainly don't help that the different authorities don't seem to want to have an open dialogue to start to fix some of these issues. You'd think adjusting a route like the 263 for example, to start from Potters Bar would be simple enough as well. Journey's don't generally stick to lines on a map. If I had a bus company, I don't think I would want to bother with commercial routes anymore either tbh, seems like we're near the end of the road for it hopefully.
That was great. Love the vintage buses 👌❤️
Thank You
Nice video keep it up
Thanks
@BristolRE you are welcome
Good video and nice pictures Peter!
Thanks
Great video Peter. Nice to look back on the year.
Thanks
I really do like those HA buses, I always try and nab 15 or 16 from EC when I do the Tottenham Shuttle.
I've not driven one
Nice pictures Peter
Thanks, surprisingly few this year from me, except work photos

As far as I recall 190 and 191 were also withdrawn
@BristolRE ok
Uno 605 is actually the oldest vehicle used in TfL tendered service, it has held that accolade for over a year!
Yes indeed!
