Due to the size of the QS273 motor and it's weight it would not be able to fit the gears on. Pedaling this large of a hub motor easily without assist is a bit difficult to get going but once rolling its not as bad. Mainly to be used with assist or for backup to get home without. For 7 speed gears you need the smaller QS205 or factory motor seen in the 5kw or less bikes we offer. With these lighter motors it's still possible to pedal easily and the motor is small enough it still allows for 7 speed gears to be added.
"Mainly to be used with assist or for backup to get home without." ... as an owner of this bike, you will not be pedaling it anywhere without power, and if you try you risk wrecking the torque sensor in the pedal crank.
Either 7 speed or single speed gears can be added on bikes under 5kw. Anything more must use single gear due to motor size. Both setups can pedal to a max of about 35km/hr comfortably. It should be noted that having 7 gears just makes it easier to get going.
@@EnduroEBikesCanada Very interesting and thank you for the reply. So stopping and starting on a steep hill with a bigger motor should be avoided? It could be a hard start depending on the fixed gearing I guess?
@@petesmith1 If no electric assist will be very difficult to get going on hill with larger hub motor. With assist still will not be any issue. This 7 speed gear train works well to assist with no power.
I mean... pretty sure we can build a light weight carbon fiber non-ebike to be more expensive then our bikes... but at what point does that extra money being spent actually benifit the concumer by leaps and bounds.
This hub motor design is great for a cruiser bike but with the heavier motors in the back it can become considerly back end heavy making the typical MX jump a little bit tricky indeed. For those kinds of big jumps we recommend the Sur-Ron type lineup of bikes on our site.
Well yeah... They use the "Enduro" frame we sell them... As do many other manufacturers. It is an amazing frame that is very popular in the high performance ebike market. The main difference will come down to product support and the electronics and amount of customization offered. It is called an Enduro E-Bike after all.
No this bike has differnet operating modes depending on if your riding it like a pedal bike in a city or a motorbike in the back country. You can set the bike to 500w 32km/hr or fully unlock it for pure electric power!

I love when people like you feel confident enough to comment to correct people yet don’t know anything lol. It’s a 72v 150amp so if you are going to correct someone at least be correct. 72x150= 10,800 watt e-bike. They likely just round up.

So question 🙋 can it come with gears so it can be peddled effectively when I let the battery run dry 😊

Is the gearing fixed in low gear, so you can only pedal at low speed?
