This is why entering koi shows is a waste of time.

@TheKoiPartner From what I understand, the winning koi was never in the owners' pond and was flown from the dealer by private jet to the show. That is hard to beat. A better comment would have been its fine to enter, but just understand the competition. I love the koi hobby, but the show scene sure is strange.
@@chrisb.1116 thank you for clarifying 😃 in Japan it’s actually the same. Breeders who take care of the fish because they condition it better than a regular pond, take the fish to the show. It’s pretty normal to do for dealers on behalve of their customers also because of quarantine purposes 😄
