    First hand -- Preflop: Fine. Flop: What's interesting is that with your exact hand it's almost never a c-bet. With all AKo it's c-bet 24% of the time to about 40% pot. I'd say to simplify it betting 25% of the time with AKo is fine at a half pot sizing. He is calling with 60% of his range. This seems pretty standard so far. Turn: This should be a small bet if you are leading (75% of the time with AKo), to something like 1/4-1/3 pot. He should call with 2/3 of his range on the turn. Again, well played. River: This was a mistake to check. You need to be betting your hand 100% of the time. The 8 was a blank and if you were good on the turn, you are good on the river most of the time. This should be close to a 40% pot again. Checking removes AK from your range when he jams. If he was playing close to GTO he is jamming with less than 1% of his range. I'd be suspicious too and make the call thinking he is making an awful bluff.

    First hand (i am no poker expert by any means, never even played 5/5 before but i do study alot) i think the ak should be cbet for a small size or checked when OOP to somebody who called your 3b. Their calling range is very condensed around the queen and betting 50 looks to me like a bit too big ik solver likes small bet or a check on this board w all range even AA/KK. Important to think how the top of your range would act and sort of center the rest of your range around that. As played though, betting 50 on the turn is also a blunder IMHO you should be checking or betting larger setting up for a river jam. I like a check bc opponents at low stakes tend to make way more mistakes when checked to then when u bet, i like to use a strategy of sometimes checking my entire range when OOP esp on dry flops like Q36 rainbow. I also dont like a check on the river bc it allows villain to xb with hands exactly like what he has u got lucky that he spazzed w kqo lol

    • @johnk7125
      @johnk7125 6 месяцев назад +1

      As for checking OOP its important to look at your hand and range in term of ev. If you think opponents make more mistakes when checked to then it becomes more +ev to check range as opposed to betting, which allows villain to simply fold worse hands and continue w better

      This is a great comment. After playing a bit in May (and being in a bit of a hole), I agree 100% with your advice on checking here. I think overall, I bet too much when I should be checking, and I have been using GTO trainer to reduce my blunders. In the future, I will try checking more streets in similar situations, especially with better players. Thanks for advice on this!

    General rule for pot sizing is 50% flop and 75% turn/river for heads up. Multi-way, you can lower your percentage to fold out the junk. If you’re confident an opponent is on a draw, you could bet pot sized to at least make those calls less profitable for your opponent in the long run. Keep an eye on opponent stacks too to make sure they’re playing deep enough before c-betting.
    The play when you had A10 and the board was A10QJ7 with 3 hearts. Why did you value bet your two pair or did you turn your hand into a bluff? What worse hands did you think would call? How often would a K call or raise?
    Watching the video, that play was the one that I personally would have just taken my showdown value simply because your only action would be to fold on any raise.

    • @pokersam
      @pokersam  6 месяцев назад

      That guideline for sizing makes sense to me, I definitely need to practice it because I am losing value on winning hands and losing extra $ by not controlling the pot on losing hands.
      For some reason, I thought the two pair may be called by worse. I see why it is so risky to bet there since a straight is very possible with the K and that would be the only reasonable call for the villain. I agree that I should have just taken the showdown value.
      Appreciate the advice on this one.

    Nice video. To give better content as well as give you better feedback you could give us a bit more information in every hand. The best information is every player's stack size and each player's table position as this is very important in determining bet sizing and in general what action you should be taking during the hand. Keep working on things and I wish you good success!

    Starting filming when you have a good hand is a tell players will pick up on.
    Your value bets are too small and giving very good pot odds. Size them up to 1/2 to 2/3 of pot.

    • @pokersam
      @pokersam  5 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you for that advice on the sizing, I agree my sizing is terrible especially in the earlier vlogs. A note for the filming, I have a little Bluetooth button in my sweater that I press to conceal when I record to prevent any tells of good hands.
      Sometimes I don’t use that button, and it can definitely be a tell so I need to be more careful.

    • @darklurker33
      @darklurker33 5 месяцев назад

      Anyone skilled at reading tells us going to pickup on that a lot faster then you think. The button is the same spot on the sweater, they may not even know why you are moving the hand but will pick up the correlation between you doing that motion and then showing up with a strong hands.
      Especially if you move up levels.

    First hand… you only had like $100-120 left? (Or so)
    Check and call or just go all in yourself…
    Either way with AK in a 3 bet pot pre, and you only have roughly $100 behind, assuming you start the hand with around $300, folding would be very bad.
    Its important to let the viewers know how much you have in your stack starting each hand.

    • @pokersam
      @pokersam  6 месяцев назад +1

      That makes sense, that may be why I snap called at the time... I was not considering my starting stack size and how much I had left when reviewing the vlog. Good point on the starting stack for each hand, I made sure in my notes to add my stack size so the next vlog will have more information.

      @@pokersamAlso, you mention showing your hand first.
      There is really nothing wrong with just showing, this is what I do and I play and deal for a living.
      Its kinda a freeroll… youre probably going to have to show your hand anyway. If your hand is tabled and your opponent folds and doesnt show his, you will win the pot regardless of what he had. Every once in a while your opponent may make a mistake and muck a better hand. It does happen!
      In a recent vlog Rampagepoker mucked a hand that would have won him a sidepot if he had just shown. So its really kinda smart to just show your hand when the showdown comes.
      If you are playing well your opponents wont be able “to figure out your game” or anything if you just show at showdown. Theyre not paying that close attention. Even if you got caught bluffing its can get you a call next time you have it.

    • @mjriemen
      @mjriemen 6 месяцев назад

      In the long run folding 55 there is fine really… hes probably not bluffing for a small sizing of $20… You have to be good about 1 in 5 times for this call to be profitable. Two overs, trips possible, flush possible… its a lot closer of a call than you make it seem.

    • @pokersam
      @pokersam  6 месяцев назад
