positions in the GNU cabinet. But he states that the IFP has
placed that prerogative of the positions' allocation on the
president.

I feel like DA is asking too much by asking 11 seats in CABINET but i also feel ANC is giving to little by giving 6 seats only. If you give DA 6 seats that means you can't give ANC more than 12 since the proportion of votes for ANC IS NOT MORE THAN DOUBLE of DA
It's all part of negotiating.
The DA is no longer asking for 11 seats and is prepared to settle for less than what they're entitled to.
The ANC is trying to be tough and get more than what they deserve.
