I’ll be starting at Bath this year! I’ve been watching your youtube videos I love them!! This was sooo helpful. Just wondering how much are the bus tickets to get into town - is it worth getting a year bus pass in first year? Also do they have contactless payment or do you have to have change for the bus every week? X 💛
+miaalicex so glad they could help! The bus is about £1.50 or so (I’m sorry I don’t remember since getting a pass haha!) but I wouldn’t get a pass in 1st year I doubt you’ll use it enough unless you have a hobby you do a lot in town or a job maybe... they have contactless but people buy tickets in advance on the app it’s much quicker!

I do the exact same a levels as you and I'm considering biochemistry at uni and it would be really nice to see an update video on your course - do you still like it? is there a lot of chemistry/maths? would you recommend it to someone interested in both chemistry and biology and wants a broad hard science degree? :D
+Cory Winter absolutely, it’s on my list! But to answer quickly: at Bath at least no not loads :) yes definitely especially biology and the smaller scale stuff in biology

hey Noo. i went on the bath website to sign up in order to pick accommodations. but i am not sure where to start with the sign up process, i am really confused. apparently you need a username and password or something? help would be appreciated!
Really helpful video!! Is the rent for houses in Bath very expensive?
+Ciannaic compared to other more northern cities perhaps, but not crazy expensive at all no! Most people pay about £120 or so a week when they move into shared houses (from my knowledge!)
This is brill! Let's say I want to join the musical society is there like a big audition I have to do also I've not had previous musical experience is that a problem?and the same with cheerleading I've never done it before but I'd like to try!xx
+isla Gardiner hey, no there isn’t! You only have to audition for 2/5 shows a year- if you want to audition for a part that’s different but to just be in the show no :) lots of people have no experience there’s a big range so don’t worry about that, come along to our welcome social or come meet our social secretaries (details on BUSMSmusicals on Instagram) and cheerleading I didn’t do last year but I think is the same you do some tasters and then try out to be on the competition team but can do it non competitively without trying out x
Noo Stenning ahhhh okay thankyou I see! So let’s say if I just wanted to be on the team without competing as in just for fun then I could just come along? Really quickly-another question sorry! But is it easy to make friends? I’ve never been in a group in school as I find it to “clicky” if you get me- but I have lots of friends that arnt in the same group. But at Uni I’d like to find a group to you know go on holidays with and move in with but I worry if I’d find it tricky? Xx

The library technically has everything you need, just not as modern as some other unis- personally didn’t deter me from going x
Hii, this video is super helpful. I do have a question though, if you dont get the freshers wristband, are there still freshers events you can go to?? Are the wristbands just for the arena events, or for everything in the day too? /the more chilled pizza nights. Thanks x
+Zoe hiya, so if you go on the freshers website and Facebook it’ll give you a detailed answer but my understanding is you can go to certain things yes just not the arena events in the evening! Definitely check because I know they have a little colour code system thingy where it explicitly says what you need the band for x

what is the cheerleading team like? i currently do all star cheer on a senior 4 and junior 3 and i’m really interested in doing it at uni too when i’m old enough. i’m doing my gcses next year but i’ve been watching some university videos as i’m really interested haha xx
Honestly I only did it a year and did Pom dance (only a tiny bit of squad etc) I would say Bath’s team don’t train as much as some unis so they aren’t quite as high level as some other unis- but I think the social side is great and they’re still really good they do Co-Ed Level 2 and 3 in the national uni comps and then dance teams too! It may change by the time you come though and there’s definitely people who’ve been cheering years on them and are really good! X

Gosh I’m not entirely sure, twice a week maybe three times?! Depends on the squad, the one I did was once a week :) I think 2 comps! X
Is it hard to make friends if you're living at home and commuting to uni?
+Sian Carpenter I won’t lie I think it would be harder, but not impossible by any means! Just make sure you make the effort to see people when you aren’t at home and go to things in the evenings etc x

Im interested in going to bath uni because it looks really nice but as a black person a major thing needed is diversity so is bath generally diverse?
I’m not gonna lie, I don’t think Bath is as diverse as some unis. However I think it’s becoming more so slowly and I also don’t think it’s the worst for diversity in the country by any means x

Heyy I’m going to Bath this year and thank you so much for these tips ! But I’m quite worried about accommodation coz it started from 21st of Aug, but apparently I missed it. Do you know if I can get flats still or I need to look out for rent ? Plus is there anyway to get contact with other freshers before uni😩 literally so stressed
+cecilia He so first get in contact with you Uni and they’ll help with accommodation and try and find you somewhere - and help with non-halls if they don’t have them left! Ask them about joining the Facebook groups for accommodations that’s how we got in contact pre uni (hopefully they let you join even if you aren’t in that halls) x

+Isabelle R I would say compared to some other unis yes that’s true. Though I don’t think it’s necessarily anything to do with the uni I think it’s something that started a while ago and is slowly changing - if that makes sense. I can’t speak for anyone but myself but I’ve never experienced any negativity as a result of it. I don’t know how important diversity is to you in terms of picking a uni though x
