  • This is a discussion to answer a viewer question about up-bow spiccato vs up-bow sautille or saltando. I've chosen Paganini Caprices 5 and 7 to demonstrate these two basic strokes. Additionally, below are the two links as promised in the video to refer to some of the concepts I had discussed. I hope this successfully or at least partially answers the question. Cheers and best wishes!

Awesome! This is such a good timing, a week ago I decided to revisit the Paganini Caprices and your series is helping me a lot! Please cover as many as you can, I am studying everyday with your videos! 🙏🏻😁🎻🎻🎻

You've just given me the most amazing fresh inspiration. When I performed all 24 Caprices in one performance, it completely changed the way I viewed the music of Paganini as well as his possible intentions and personal style. That being said, I'm trying to bring to light angles and views not commonly expressed about these wonderful works to share with other violinists a fresh look at these amazing pieces. Thank you for your kind words and I will do my best from my end! Cheers and best wishes!

I don't get why your videos aren't more viewed. You have excellent pedagogical ability, very similar to Julia Bushkova.
