Meet Vô Corvo, the 68 year old Brazilian League of Legends streamer who got so sick of smurfs ruining his low rank Iron games that he decided to take revenge by getting his hands on high ranked accounts and ruining their games.
We got to speak to the man himself to find out how you become a reverse smurf as well as all the love and backlash he’s received.

I mean... That's just him. Literal spending money to buy challenger accounts and not having fun because he made his goal to just die and die and die. Not only that, he wasn't even smurfed on in lower elos. He is just literally SO garbage that any player with half brain can stomp lane and get giant against him.

Supremely based behavior. Smurfs are scumbags that ruin the game for the vast majority of players since most people are low elo in any game. In tf2 comp higher div playes usually get med locked or just can't play there main if the skill gap is smaller. so main and im players in am pugs usually get class locked while adv or inv players would be med locked but they rarely show up in low div pugs as they have their own high div pug groups.
Smurfs are only a problem if you have a loser mindset and are bad at the game. You almost never find a smurf and when you have a bad mentality you will always lose. Not the smurfs problem.

@@Viper-ds1ue Never smurfed, but when I find a smurf in my games, which only happens 1 in 20 games, i try even harder to win against him, i dont have a loser mindset. And smurfing in games is a normal thing when you became good at the game and are on high ranks, because no one wants to have 10-20 minutes queue. So if you cant create smurfs (like a lot of league players want Riot to do) you are punished for getting to high ranks, because the game becames less fun because high queue times. There are a lot of reasons to make a smurf, and the reasons people are against are realy only a mindset problem, and only happens like 1-20 games with a 50/50% chance to be in your team or against you, so not a problem at all.

@@ich3730 yeah playing against people slightly better than you is beneficial. But if someone is of much higher skill than you, you won't improve. Like a NC scout will learn from 1v1ing a am or im scout but if they fight a main and above scout they are going to get soo thoroughly fucked that they would need to raise their base deathmatch ability to even understand the mistakes there making.
Stopped playing ranked around 3 or 4 years ago. I was finally on my plat promos for the first time and I was playing mid, against a silver 4 leblanc that had over 80 games and 90%+ win rate on her and 0% on like 10 other champs. That's when I said fuck it. What't the point of trying to get better when I'm always just gonna get fucked over by a higher ranked player than me that can't win in his own elo so he has to make a new account and ruin other players experience.

It doesn't even have to force riot to do anything because they won't, but I definitely enjoy seeing the faces of challenger players trying to carry a game with people of their own skill while someone is lacking.
They won't do anything about it because smurfs earn Riot money. Dota has smurfing as a bannable offense, which proves that it isn't too difficult to do at all. It's all about the money.

I'm cool with this... I'm a high ranked FPS player but bronze-silver in league. I never understood people smurfing in FPS games and it's so frustrating dealing with it in league... I never had to deal with reverse smurfs in FPS but I think it would be a good thing for people to experience cause they're never on the receiving side of it and dish it out all the time and pretend like it's no big deal. As if they're not completely ruining whats supposed to be a fun time for others. If I was high ranked I obviously wouldn't love it, but I could at least laugh at the idea of what they're doing and understand it.
wouldn't really work. a smurf will carry hard in an fps game regardless of a bad player on the team. league is a lot different.
When 1 player can completely lose you the game, nah it's COMPLETELY different than FPS titles when it comes to ranked. At least in FPS games you can hard carry solo, this game is far more complex. And I've peaked master tier last split, and current.

I started playing league a couple of years back. I never played it or any other mobas before so it was all new to me.
The first game I played I got flamed by my team for being new. They all smurfed and my entire enemy team was smurfing too.
I was like alright, GG go next and played some more. The next 5 games all played out the same, everyone in the lobby was a smurf, or only the enemies had smurfs.
I uninstalled in the middle of game six because as you guessed: More smurfs

There is this ironic situation where a person who doesn't know what they are doing, actually counters players at the top of the game, because they expect others to play cautiously like them. It's like going all in with your chips playing poker every bet. Someone just straight inting non stop fighting is just bizarre at high ranks because the fight usually has a back and forth, testing for weaknesses and mistakes before committing.

Helping fix smurfs is actually pretty easy.
If you have a couple games where you absolutely dominated, TURBO boost the MMR of the account.
Even if it boosts them past where they should be, the system will even it out because theyll start doing terribly or theyll be put in the elo they belong in and just be on par.

Riot korea gives everybody 5 accounts which i think is fair. Gives everybody a chance to have an account for every role and tie them all together. If one gets banned, they all do.
Only way to do that is to link Ssn to your account and if we do that then that’s destroys the anonymity of the internet and trust me I’m sure not one of you want anything you ever post online to be able to easily be traced back to you and be under evaluation easily for employment

As someone who plays 95% of his games on a Smurf, I applaud this man.
We had someone similar to him on dota called Leopold. He would buy top 10 accounts (upwards of $10k) and lose games all while yelling in voice chat and feeding relentlessly 😂
so there are mutch fewer ppl in high elo, which makes this very effective. i love it to the core.

im a smurf myself and i hate it, i wish riot would make every account linked with your personal ID or FACE scan or w/e idc. Yes i do smurf myself to play with friends because there just isnt a way for me to play with them without playing flex which is completely fcked elo whise and has a whole different playstyle because u usually meet 5 stacks. Smurfing should be removed and another duoq type should be invented where elo differences are uncapped so i can play with my friends solo duo without smurfing. the problem with league community is toxicity and smurf accounts. as a new player, you wouldnt be able to stand up to experienced players. but as an experienced player, you want to smurf on noobs and feel superior. the amount of toxicity that comes in form of verbal chat is astonishing.

smurfs give riot more money. i wouldnt be surprised if riot actually has a side business of selling leveled accounts, accounts with rare skins, different elo accounts and selling them or saving them as a sort of investment to charge more later.

The truth is that if Riot wanted a healthy community and ranked scene, they would abolish smurfs from being allowed. However, thats not what they are interested in. It doesnt benefit them financially to get rid of smurfs so they have no interest. Smurfs genuinely ruin the ranked experience for everyone involved. They inflate peoples elo and deflate all at once. It would be like a highschool basketball team going up against Michael Jordan in a highschool tournament game. No matter who DESERVES to win, Michael Jordans team is going to win. And even if he loses that game, he'll win the vast majority. Ruining the games hes in for everyone involved.
Its likely that Riots excuse would be that "if everyone has only 1 account, then a lot of people wont get to play with their friends because of Elo difference, so they need another account to play on". Truth is thats still fucking smurfing and shouldnt be allowed. I've been guilty of doing this myself but wouldnt cry 1 tear if it was completely removed as an option. Because if i could play league KNOWING that smurfs get perma bans then It would absolutely worth it.

What he's doing is identical to every youtubers "road to challenger" journey. Both are ruining hundreds of games. And as long as we have the latter, I highly endorse the former aswell.
The league community is the only ones who sees smurfing as normal, and i think its pathetic. I feel like properly addressing the situation from Riot's side would be the biggest W. Sure reverse smurfing is fun to watch, but being in lobbies like that as a d1 player hurts a lot, especially when L9 InterNunu and his friends are trolling so many of the games already, and getting thousands of views for it. It shouldn't be the people who play properly that gets punished, but actual smurfs instead back in silver
Riot just has to get a better evaluation system to figure out the skills of the player faster, this won't get rid of smurfs but definitely reduces the amount of smurfs.
If someone in iron suddenly immensly outperforms his last performance immediately throw him into a silver game, if he still immensly outperforms everyone throw him into a platin game.
If the rank climb goes that fast people are less likely to buy a smurf because getting a higher rank just takes that much longer.
If people buy less smurfs, people will sell less smurf which will create less smurfs overall.
This has many loopholes, why if an Iron just gets 3 really good/lucky games in a row? He will gain more than 1000 pdl, it's not fair.
And you can say "then just put in back on his elo when he starts playing bad.", but what about people on a bad phase? Will they lose more than 1000 pdl just because they're in a bad phase?
The possible answers to smurfing problems is only one: Make 1 to 5 accounts per person only. They just need different forms of identifications for each country

Nop, he's famous because he sucks and it's funny as hell. We also had another streamer called gordox with similar content (minus the smurfing) and as soon he got better at the game, his viewship dwindled a lot, so he mysteriously started losing again.
So he BUYS accounts from SMURFS and throws games so there is a bigger incentive for people to SMURF and sell their accounts.

Smurfs don’t grind out League accounts, serial account grinders do. The point of smurfing is so you can feel good about yourself crushing people lower ranked than you, it’s not to grind the ranked ladder up to where you were previously unless you’re a normal person.
Besides, at the highest ELO, most people are on their main accounts anyways because way more people can smurf in bronze than the people who can smurf in Masters
Every time he takes an account the high mmr player that used to play on that account has to play at a lower skill level making the games unfair till they “grind” or Smurf back up. Call it wat u want :)
