I'm not a Knicks fan, but this squad was one of my favorites.

I’m a Bulls die hard for life and always will be, but I’ve always had love for the Knicks and this squad specifically. I remember that season so well with Jordan being retired again, this squad gave me something to get excited about and follow throughout the year.

Good video. I liked that Knicks team because they didn't back down from anyone. It would've been interesting if LJ and Ewing were healthy.

That year was arguable the BEST year of New York Knicks. They came into the finals being the underdog.
As a Knicks fan, that season was very satisfying. After that season and Ewing retire, I could barely watch the Knicks till this season.

Ewing's Knicks from 1986-2000
in 88 they were #2 seed in East and upset by MJ and Chicago 4-2.
in 1990 they beat Boston and Bird 3-2 after down 0-2.
in 1992 they took the second or greatest Bulls team and Jordan 7 games in the second round after nailing the coffin to Isiah Thomas and Detroit in the first round 3-2.
in 1993 they are upset by Chicago 4-2 in ECF.
in 1994 they fight the Rockets and Hakeem to 7 hard fought games in the NBA finals.
in 1995 they are forced out of the playoffs in a seventh game to a huge rival Indiana and Reggie Miller.
in 1996 they beat Chicago once in both the regular season and playoffs, one of only three teams to defeat the 72-10 '96 Bulls two or more times that season, the others being Seattle, who did it three times, once in reg season, twice in NBA finals. The Pacers, who did twice in the reg season, and the Knicks who handed Chicago their worst loss of the season 104-72 in the reg season and also beat them once in the second round of the playoffs despite being 47-35 and their worst since 1991 after hiring Pat Riley. Then in 1997 they get jobbed out of a 7 game series victory vs Miami tainted by suspensions.
in 1998 they upset Miami as a 7 seed and get revenge while also beating Indiana once despite Indiana's best franchise record of 58-24 and being good enough to challenge the 3-peat 6-ship Bulls in the 98 ECF.
then in 99 they are in the finals again and win one game vs Duncan and Robinson despite losing P. Ewing in the ECF. They also upset Miami and Indiana along the way. the 99 season cemented these Knicks teams as the second best team in the EASt in the 90's Jordan dominated era of the NBA.
inn 2000 they defeat the #15 team in this series the 2000 Toronto Raptors, they defeat the Heat three years in a row, effectively finishing 3-1 vs a team that was 61-21 in 97, 55-27 in 1998, 33-17 in 99, and 52-30 in 2000 and never having home court advantage in any series. Oneof the greatest achievements by this era's Knicks. and finally lose to Indiana in 2000 in the ECF. These Knicks are maybe the GREATEST losers in team sports history.
I remember watching the Knicks in the 90s when they had Houston Sprewell Camby and Ewing. It's been really tough decade since van gundy left. I hope to God that Stoudemire brings back the memories of New York having a winning season.

The 97 Knicks team was the best they gelled at the right time and was one of the hottest teams since the all-star break. If the suspension never happens against Miami I really think they beat the Bulls. That team would give the bull all types of problems and they were firing on all cylinders, oh well what could of been it just wasn't meant to be
