Get the precise horizontal center of the wall, and as @ballashoes writes, find the center of the short side of the tile and put a mark, line that mark up with the center line (while at its 45 degree angle), and that is where you should lay that first tile. i lost it when he put the 45 on the first tile and it was off a bit lmaooooo i feel better now ! mine is similar i don't know if its the wall or what , as I did not set the walls and they are off plumb. also.. which size back splash would allow you to connect from herringbone into a straight run ?

its better i think if you do painters tape template frame on the floor first to dry fit it
Center shouldn't be on the tip of the tile, it should be half of the width. You would end up even that way

Back wall is not centered which throws the whole job herringbone is not centered on the tip of
