Omg I’m so excited to come back to this song and see a whole bunch of new comments regarding this song in a trailer?? If you’re new to this band PLEASE listen to the rest of this album and their other works. They’re incredible.
I've watched that video TWICE my dude, and honestly, this song playing over that clip was literally perfect and how it should've gone in the actual game had this song not been about Mega Man
When you just want to see people discussing this music but you have no idea who Demo D or Guts is or why everyone's so obsessed with getting off a boat
ruclips.net/video/4VnLY_iQxGU/видео.html This should clear things up if you still were wondering. Basically there’s a character named Guts in a manga called Berserk who got on a boat. Then the series went on hiatus and when it came back the pace slowed to a crawl, with basically a bunch of filler of Guts doing stuff on the boat. This period of time lasted close to a decade (our time, not in the comic). So when he finally got off the damn boat it was a pretty big deal, and the youtuber linked above made that video to commemorate the Ordeal of the Boat, using this fantastic song in it. So that’s why people are taking about all that stuff.
I got you on the Metal Gear Solid reference. There's a video named Metal Gear Solid 4 Was a Mistake in which this song was used for the climax where liquid ocelot does the thing. There are several timestamps in the comments, but it happens an hour and thirty nine minutes into the video and is fantastically executed.
I love how well this band lives up to the game's mythology even while changing the plot and tone entirely. In the lyrics booklet that details the rock-opera like lyrics and stage details for what the actors would be doing in the script, it says that after Joe's fall in the aptly titled "The Fall", that Light picks up his helmet and gets to work on fixing the future. The helmet, I think it implies that the helmet is to be used for Protoman - who becomes the basis for Wily's Sniper "Joe". ; )
I'm so glad VGHS used these guys' music so I could discover it! This song and some of the other ones they have have that awesome 80s sound, and I didn't even know they weren't decades old until I looked them up! The guitar solo in this song just has so much awesome feel to it; I love it!

If Joe could reach the main telescreen on top of the tower in the center of the city - Wily's tower - he could take out the central transmitter. He could stop the broadcasts going out to the satellite screens. He could stop the broadcasts going out to the machines. He could take out Albert's eyes. With Wily blinded, Light could reenter the city undetected. He could complete the task that he had obsessed over for more than twenty years. He could kill Albert Wily. A prisoner caged on the edge of the city, this was Light's chance. His chance not only at freedom, but to exact revenge. To kill his judge, his warden, and the man who'd built his prison. To destroy the man who'd taken everything from him - his life's work, his name, his love. Together: We can light up the night! There is a city that this darkness can't hide. We can bring back the light. With Wily's assassin out of the way, they had a small and rapidly closing window. The sniper robot would soon be missed. Their plan finally secure, Light locked the green helmet under Joe's chin and handed him the bag of explosives. "Go!" he shouted.
I saw The Protomen at PAX prime, back when PAX was good and not just another commercial expo, and lemme tell you, they're amazing live. The day after the main show, they played in a small conference room in the convention center and did a bunch of covers, and it was even better in that small intimate space as opposed to the big theater.
I saw them once at PAX East, in Boston. A friend of mine had been trying to get me into The Protomen for years, and that was the first time I actually listened to them. They blew me away, and thankfully, I got a signed vinyl out of it. One of the proudest parts of my collection.

@@Malumbrus there was a video that the RUclipsr, Demolition D, made that was about Guts getting off the boat. Demo may have another name for RUclips, but if you look up Demo D and Berserk, you'll find the video. The thumbnail is Guts sitting in the window seal.
Given the song this one is followed by, we should have seen what happened coming.
Rest in peace, Miura.

I was wondering how long this song would take to make it to Ultrakill.
When you just want to see people discussing this music but you have no idea who Demo D or Guts is or why everyone's so obsessed with getting off a boat
ABSOLUTELY THIS.
Berserk
Brandon Michaels BERSERK

This should clear things up if you still were wondering.
Lmao yeah this song just popped in the algorithm and me like .
Ok I love this song, Berserk and Metal Gear Solid. Yet somehow I've missed what seems to be an awesome combination of the lot
Gut's theme of getting off the fucking boat.
Haou no, it's for when shit gets hype in VGHS
I knew i hard this song somewhere else
WOLF AMONG US 2 TRAILER LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOO 3:20

That part of the show lowkey went hard as fuck
lol if no one else said anything i was going to. loved that series, especially season 1 and this scene.
Can't believe i can think of both Berserk and Wolf among us when I play this song now 😭😭🥰

This city's sleeping like a soldier trapped inside of an iron lung.
Machines can keep you breathing but what happens when you find a new war's begun?
Flip a switch and turn it off,
you won't be able to breathe.
So either way you're a casualty.
I've got this burning like my veins are filled with nothing but gasoline.
And with a spark it's gonna be the biggest fire they've ever seen.
Cut me down or let me run,
Either way it's all gonna burn...
The only way that they'll ever learn
We've got to turn it off
Flip a switch
Light up the night!
There is a city that this darkness can't hide.
There are the embers of a fire that's gone out,
But I can still feel the heat on my skin
This mess we're in, well you and I,
Maybe you and I,
We can still make it right.
Maybe we can bring back the light.
Tom:
At the heart of the city there is a building that looks down over all there is.
And the man in the tower controls it all without raising a single fist.
It's like they gathered up the city, they sold it to the devil and now,
It's gone to hell and they wonder how.
Well, a friend once told me:
Men, they would follow any man who would turn the wheels.
Now the wheels are spinning out of control;
what would they do if we held them still?
If you destroy the working parts, what you'll get is a broken machine.
A beacon of light from a burning screen.
Light it up.
Light up the night.
Together:
There is a city that this darkness can't hide.
There are the embers of a fire that's gone out,
But I can still feel the heat on my skin.
This mess we're in, well you and I,
maybe you and I,
We can light up the night.
They made their plans carefully. Spending hours on the details.
Together:
We can light up the night!
There is a city that this darkness can't hide.
There are the embers of a fire that's gone out,
But I can still feel the heat on my skin.
This mess we're in, well you and I,
maybe you and I,
We can light up the night.
There is a city that this darkness can't hide
There is a fire that will burn through the streets of the city, and we will stand in the light.
We will stand in the light,
you and I.
You and I.
This is one of my most favorite songs ever! This last weekend I introduced my boys to the 2 albums of Protomen. They loved EVERY song.

First time hearing this song, gives 80s rock vibes. Instantly became one of fav songs of all time. One of the best songs I've ever heard. The passion, artistry of music and songwriting, and the message are sublime. #NewFan
Right there with you. If this song had been around in the 80's, it would have been part of a Rocky montage without a doubt.

There once was 1080p, a beautiful creation of man. It's pixel count blew not only the charts, but the faces of the observers. Then, one stormy night, a miracle happened. 1440p! Have you ever heard such a thing? You can now watch a stationary photo to awesome music in the highest definition known to mankind!
And then when you least expect it... It destroys the video!
1440p is not exactly the best quality known to mankind... The cinemas use 4K, some RUclips videos have it available too.
I'm now blind from watching in 1440p... It was worth it.
And my computer crashed after Haha.
***** 1440p is still not the best quality made yet... I just found out that final cut pro is able to render in 5k.

Nobody knows, dude. Nobody knows. They only spread to me through a chance appearance of it in my recommendations after a bit of a Megaman remix binge on here, an appearance I'm now very thankful for.
I found them through my sister-in-law. I dismissed her recommendation until I seen them on the Warped Tour 2014 list and got curious. I haven't been listening to much else since.
