is the 24 inch BMX large enough to sit and ride through the city with as well? so that one can actually sit down in the saddle and also commute 20-40 min over downtown here and there, and still feel relaxed in the hip and knees?

I am about 5'10" (I am on the 20" in the video) but it felt natural to me when I rode it a few times. If you can borrow one to try out it may be for you.

I am not sure how tall you are but if you have a seat up a bit these are roomy enough for a commute.
