This video brings up some great points about this good value scooter. Also I heard that the footboard is kind of flimsy. If you jump off of a curve you can feel it bend.
With regard to the seat, I think you will find that it is meant to swivel as there is no way to tighten it no matter what you do with the side clips. The suspension under the seat means that the central pole will stay fixed but the small top section (under the plastic ribbing) will always be able to move around. That just seems to be the way it is designed. We have what is called a Hetzer H5 GT which is what Evercross seems to be called down here.
I've had the 1st gen for over 1 year and it still storng snd no problems... I sold the seat it came with and I mad the brake and controls to my preference znd my way. I make sure the boys are tightened when I ride
I put a Self Tapping Screw in my seat post to keep it from swiveling. My front springs don't rattle too much but the folding mechanism sure makes alot of noise. I'm planning to make the folder solid with nuts & bolts. I don't fold it up anyways.
I've had this scooter for a month and the brakes are already not braking good. When I got the scooter they were braking fine, but after a week to so not anymore. Is there a way to fix this, like tighten them? How would I do this?
I have a few videos on the brake issues. You can watch them. In short, you have to check the screws and tightened them but it can also be the brake pads. Keep in mind this scooter doesn't have electronic braking which is another reason the braking isn't that great along with the fast speed which doesn't help.
I should be getting my H9 tomorrow and from the looks of it, the seat concept hasn't changed. All Evercross had to do was put holes in the seat pole, that accept a pin, then one could raise the seat to their liking and put the pin in, which would prevent it from turning or sliding down. Not rocket science.
@@carbrickscity Got my H9 and already afraid. When the charger hits green, the Scooter only has 4 bars green and the 5th on is red. The display also shows 54v when the Scooter is supposed to be 48v. Can I assume it's just a display issue and not a Scooter problem?
I saw another video about the seat falling down under your weight. Cut a piece of pipe the correct length.. drop that down in to the hole, then put the seat in next. The weight will be on that small pipe you dropped in there.. NOT on the clamping mechanism. you would have to do some measuring or a few cuts on the pip to get it just right. won't help the rotation of the seat.
PSA. Nice video. It's almost like they put the lights and shocks and seat and tires on to make it seem like it does more than it's made to do. While riding offroad is exciting on this scooter, it can get out of hand fairly quickly. Definitely recommend wearing at least soft pads and full face helmet and wrist gaurd. I had same issue with seat, the rubber part ripped off mine. What I did to fix is tighten the seat nut until you can barely clasp it shut, like really tight needed to use a wrench, also lift seat up until your clasping on the grip part, it wont grab if you dont lift the seat a little to the grip part of the seat pole. I dont like standing on the scooter because 1. The center of gravity 2. Handlebar stem feels like it's going to bend. Upon buying this item I would make sure all screws are tight, tighten seat. Remove back fender and tail light and front light. Buy new lights. Use silicone or some type of waterproofer on the bottom so battery NEVER gets wet. And if you're thinking of riding long distances regularly I'd just get the wolf king gt or a scooter in that class. This h5 is a nice commuter scooter but they're trying to sell as a low level hyperscooter even though it lacks power and capabilities. Know your machines limitations. Also be careful charging at night, 38 people got injured in an apartment fire because the battery blew up on a scooter that was charging overnight. As far as scooters go, this one is good for commuting on the bus IF you can easily carry 60lbs. Remember, Usain bolt cant even run 28 mph so wear a helmet, Be safe and have fun!
P settings-once you press the M and power button together, the next stop is to hold the power button down a few seconds to be able to change the settings.
Good to know about the tires. I was wonder if they helped or hurt the suspension. They are probably the reason for the new softer suspension. I haven’t had the handlebar issue that seems pretty major.
Not sure if the new suspension is softer. Feels similar to the old one. The new off road tires are definitely worse for on road use. Not sure about off road use. I wouldn't say the handle bar issue is major for now but we'll see. All H5 are built the same with same materials though, and that's the drawback for all scooters with adjustable stems and handle bars. I would rather not have them.
@@carbrickscity I hear the old front suspension bottom out all the time. I just call it my anti-rollover suspension. It’s so stiff that I can’t make it manually make it move. However when I hit a pothole, rock, or I uneven pavement it completely saves me. Also, I started by riding with the light on the fender, and it vibrated so much that I could barely see. When I moved it up to the stem made a huge difference. That’s why your comment about the mirror vibrating was so telling about the new style tires. Keep up the good work it’s very informative and I hope that they listen to your suggestions.
Did you mount the light on the handle bar? How do you do that? I had the old one and yes the old suspension bottoms out easily but it's also very stiff that when I jump on it, it didn't even move a bit. The new one seems less stiff, and I can make it bounce slightly when jumping on it. But it still bottoms out relatively easy and also has more noise than the old one. The tires make the scooter vibrates a lot because of the uneven pattern on the tires. It's not noticeable at high speed and I only realize because the mirror was shaking so violently. Wish they watch this and maybe even send me some scooters to review.
@@carbrickscitythe light was mounted on the fender during delivery. The instruction manual said during setup it needed to be moved. I thought it looked fine as is until I rode it at night and quickly moved it to the stem mount making a huge difference. It’s actually pretty good when aimed correctly. The problem with mounting accessories on the square handlebars is that you can lose the ability to fold them. A trick I learned watching from other RUclipsrs is to buy a cheap set of “baby handle bars” which attaches to the actual stem. This gives you lots of round surface area to mount accessories. Since I do a lot of night riding I went a little overboard by attaching two extra cheap rechargeable bike lights.
Just curious how to mount the light on the stem or the handle bar. It would be nice to have it on the handle bar. But I don't plan to buy anything extra so if it needs extra tools or mount.
My scooter won’t fully charge it’ll show three bars of battery charge maybe 2 & the box on the charger will always be green when charging it and when I take it to ride it’ll die in two minutes or less can someone help please
