I LOVE how unanimous it is that this is an all-timer episode, if not THE best. Of all the matchups to earn that title, I'm so glad it was this one. The two most iconic villains in all of gaming, throwing everything they have at one another for an all-out war.
And he was literally Eggman's win condition. The moment Metal Sonic went down was the moment Eggman lost. I actually consider Sage's somewhat subdued *"No!"* when Metal Sonic dies to be an indication that Sage _knows_ at that point that they've lost, but she's still holding on to the faint hope that the Death Egg can finish what Metal Sonic had started. Also, when the Death Egg gets turned into a "?" block, look at Eggman's face immediately afterwards. He's not worried about himself in that moment....he's scared that he'd just lost Sage (since he literally sees her as his "daughter")....and the animator for the fight himself even remarked that originally Sage _was_ supposed to have died there, but in the end he didn't like her dying, so he had her show up on the KO screen alive to confirm that she had, in fact, survived. It's one of the few times that Eggman cares more for someone else than himself. But it's such a brief moment that it's easy to miss.
For those who don't know: Among Us Vs Fall Guys was one of the matchups for the Champions Poll of 2022, which the DB Champions can vote for two of the matchups, one for 2D and one for 3D which will become an official DB Episode for season 10. And Among Us Vs Fall Guys is one of those 2D Matchups. However, that matchup was lost in place of Bill Cipher Vs Discord(Gravity Falls Vs My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic) for the 2D Matchup for Season 10. But to see this actually becoming an actual Death Battle episode after 2 years is wild.

Or maybe a fight involving Master Asia from G Gundam? Elderly martial arts master who can destroy humongous mecha _with his bare hands_ and doesn't even need his own humongous mecha to do so in most cases. Biggest problem would be finding a suitable opponent for him, though IMO the best options would be either Grahf, Fei, or ID from Xenogears.
Some noteworthy things about Infinite in this fight He actually didn’t die, according to the animator on Twitter he just stayed there thinking about his life choices He did more damage to Bowser’s army than Eggman and Metal Sonic combined, taking out multiple troops and King Goomba and King Bob-omb with one move Getting demolished by King Boo makes perfect sense: Infinite’s attack was using the Phantom Ruby (which can only make illusions) to increase the gravity and crush his enemies, but none of that means anything to King Boo. King Boo, being… a BOO, is unaffected by gravity, and is far more experienced with illusions. More than that, the increased gravity made a Thwomp the perfect weapon of choice

They are scared of mario fanbase, sonic fanbase is creepy yes, but when someone says "mario is trash" you don't know how intense the fanbase became.
this would be the best death battle if it wasnt that the result its clearly wrong, the eggman empire has a lot more firepower, many of eggman robots, weapons and strategies were discarded because they depend on specific circumstances, but the same applies for fury bowser and oh surprise, they made bowser transform..
