I'm looking to switch to something a bit more zero drop with a little more slip. I'm realizing it's extremely difficult to rotate on my heel if the shoe is physically placing my heel above my toes. I'm also finding it really difficult to get smooth transition of power from my rotation if the super knobby threads on my hiking shoes are biting into the T-pad stopping my feet from rotating through.
I'm in the zero drop crew. Been wearing Xero shoes for my disc golf and hiking for a while and super happy with them. The waterproof boots are awesome because they feel super light, flexible and low to the ground, but you can smash through mud and swampiness when you throw your disc in the crap. Those sock-type shoes look nice though. I have some similar ones for soccer and I haven't gone back to regular style.
Awesome video idea. I love my adidas ultraboosts/ NMDs for comfort but they aren’t waterproof and aren’t durable AT ALL. I’ll be checking your recommendations out. Thanks!
In Finland, disc golf players usually use either Vivo Barefoot's shoes or Merrell's shoes, but of course some others too, but those are pretty popular. I personally have Merrell's shoes myself and they work very well. About pro players I think Eagle is wearing Vivo Barefoot's shoes and among Finnish pro players, I know that Väinö Mäkelä is wearing Merrell's shoes.
Vivos are awesome! There's more and more players I keep seeing wear them aside from Eagle - Ricky Wysocki, Kyle Klein, Adam Hammes, Cole Redalen to name a few.
I used to like Merrell, and i still use their barefoot shoes somewhat. My issue with Merrell is that they change every year, and it seems like they get heavier every year too (unless its a barefoot shoe). The moabs are over significantly designed. Im going to try Solomons next. My friend who was special forces in the military said their what he chose after getting tired of 2 kilo Merrell boots
I bought some short rubber boots that look a bit like converse trainers and glued the soles from a pair of Adidas terrex trainers that I accidentally melted trying to dry them. The result is great grip and never ever having wet feet. I would get the vivo shoes but they are just way too expensive
Ive not had good experience with so called "waterproof shoes" and to clarify.... I walk in a lot of 3-4" dewy morning grass and the toe of my "waterproof" shoe soaks through and it really ruins my footing & confidence in my plant. Are these truly water proof in that aspect?
I love my Topo Runventures! They're a great trail running/hiking shoe and it translates well for disc golf. Zero drop, wide toe box, nice lugs for solid grip and super comfy. Similar to the Vevo barefoots that a lot of pros wear in the sense that your foot is naturally better connected to the ground instead of separated by a stack of rubber✌🧝♂
Decent video. Traction and waterproofing are important, but what about the long term durability. I find that disc golf eats the toe box by the ball of my feet, really fast.
@@IceBergTV I highly suggest trying them Merril moab2. Great totally water proof shoes especially for the price. My only issue is that they wear a bit quick for my liking but, it's relative to how much a person plays, I get in 36 holes a week minimum.
I wish i didnt have ridiculously high arches. Recently i had to start using prescription orthotics because of it. Finding shoes was nearly impossible before, i thought it would get better after i got them but its even more difficult now because the insoles are so huge that they don't fit into 99% of all footwear, period. Its been a miserable last year, and I'm still trying to figure out solutions. Next step is just foregoing shoes entirely so my feet become monstrously strong and can support themselves
What, no Crocs?? Should've at least given them an honorable mention just to troll for some engagement. During the colder months I'm almost always playing in Timberland boots (lookin like Luke Humphries). Lately I've been using some Vans Ultrarange EXOs and loving how lightweight they are compared to the boots, but if there's any rain/dew my toes are in trouble there.
I’ve have a problem that I feel not a lot of other disc golfers have. On my forehand throws I drag the inside of my right foot and it absolutely wrecks my shoes I can blow out the inside toe in 2 or 3 rounds from it dragging on the concrete. My temporary solution it putting some e6000 glue on that part lol
From a technique standpoint, try focusing on pushing off that back foot. More power, no drag. If you absolutely must drag the toe get some lighter steel toe shoes. You may create sparks but you won't destroy them!
Durability???????????????....most shoes like hiking or running shoes AREN'T made for the twisting motion....not paying almost 2 bills for a shoe that shreds it sole after some use...(yeah, I talking to you Adidas) whats the point of that!? I'd rather spend it on some disc that look pretty but i'll never use.
Idio shoes are the best on the market. Comfortable and durable. Waterproof and toe slide. I’m surprised it didn’t make the list unless it’s a casual shoe for disc golf review

Ive always wondered what you wear. I wear the Adidas Terrex.
Awesome video idea.

Moab2 are my jam!
I highly recommend any of the Ozark trail shoes. Preferably the hiking shoes. They are waterproof even though it doesn't say they qre
Shoes are overlooked. 95% of ppl doing a *in the bag* never mention what they wear on their feet, which is mistake imo

Vessi are for sure. Best waterproof ive ever used
ive been playing disc golf in Vessi's shoes since 2021. life changer.. so comfortable. Morning rounds with the dew is no problem at all with Vessi
Xero Shoes’ new waterproof Mesa Trail is amazing for disc golf. Nice tread for outdoors, zero drop and it’s waterproof.
I love SOM (Sense of Motion) shoes for this reason too. I happened to have them for light hikes and they've translated beautifully to disc golf!
Most of these don't come in wide sizes so I wear the ASICS Men's Gel-Venture 8 as both a disc golfer and a 5K runner.
Vessi and lems have very wide toe boxes in general. I totally feel where youre coming from though
Salomon X Ultra 4 GTX is my favorite. I agree about the waterproof shoes, wet feet are no fun. Keen's are also in the rotation.
Love the lems trailhead... been using a pair of them all this year. Holding up well since february.
Altra! Nobody mentioned them. Amazing tread, and lots of use-case options.
Decent video. Traction and waterproofing are important, but what about the long term durability. I find that disc golf eats the toe box by the ball of my feet, really fast.
The Nike Pegasus GORTEX shoes for me work well. Waterproof and comfortable with good grip
I agree these give you the comfort of a running shoe and also 100% waterproof. Best shoe Ive ever played in.
What's your opinion on Moab2?
Never worn them!
@@IceBergTV I highly suggest trying them Merril moab2. Great totally water proof shoes especially for the price. My only issue is that they wear a bit quick for my liking but, it's relative to how much a person plays, I get in 36 holes a week minimum.
Ill have to check them out!!!
Might want to rename that last timestamp there

Vessi is great. But don't sleep on waterproof socks. You can wear your favourite awesome shoes and still stay dry.
Anything Altra. A wider toe box is more power.. easy decision need toe-spread

Put some 3m stair slip tape in that spot
Don't buy Nikes. Try the Ozark trail shoes.

Terrex family here
Adidas Terrex - Tracerocker 2.0 Gore-Tex!
If you're a toe dragger there is no better than KEEN Men's NXIS Speed Low Height Vented Hiking Shoes.
Tfs ❤
