  • This came out kind of cool. No tapping in this one, I can't seem to get tapping to come through strong on this Tele no matter what compressor settings I mess with. Whatever

    im a beginner so i dont really understand how a lot of this stuff works but i am YEARNING for the day when I can write my own music

      Keep going! It's not as difficult as you think to get started with your own stuff. I started by sort of learning and copying ideas from other peoples music. Helps to break down how to build a riff or an idea out.

      Just live with your ax in your hands for a while. Do not put it down. Do not have expectations. Just develop intuition and be curious and allow yourself to soak into the instrument without a particular goal in mind. Just get to know the instrument intimately, string by string

      @thenatesimon do u use theory? like basic progressions adding 7th 9th and 13th? or do u play random chords in different positions to find smth interesting?

    • @TheLuke...
      @TheLuke... Месяц назад

      You need no theory or skill on an instrument, begin writing music right now, being good on an instrument has nothing to do with writing good song

      @@matthewjacox4244 this is the best comment i've seen on a guitar post. people try and make it scientific and explain it in technical terms when literally the BEST way to play any instrument is to just feel the instrument and understand it naturally as you keep playing it more and more, and just let your skill naturally increase without even thinking about it. it's as simple as it sounds

    Do you have the fret board memorized in these different tunings as well or are you just carrying shapes over

    • @thenatesimon
      @thenatesimon  Год назад +1

      Neither. I don't really know any music theory. So I just come up with stuff from messing around and finding what sounds good. I might have looked up a chord or two for this one, but I can't remember.

    Move the pickup selection to the neck position to have your taps come through more clearly.

    • @thenatesimon
      @thenatesimon  2 года назад +1

      The pickups (especially the neck) on this tele were suuuper weak so that would not really work. I actually ended up selling/trading it for some pedals a few days after I recorded this.

      I actually sold this tele right after this video. It was just a no name partscaster. Going through an Earthquaker Plumes (I think) and into an HX Stomp I use as my amp and straight out of that into garageband.
