I'm a sculptor, so I'm used to building things, but couldn't figure out how I was going to get rid of my sofa without paying $300. Now I can go sofa shopping and start dismantling this 25 year old sofa. Can't wait! Thanks for sharing 🙏
Thank you! I need to break down my old sofa to throw it out. I was thinking I would need a sledge hammer but this is perfect l!
Very helpful. Thanks for taking the time to make this. You just saved me 100 bucks!

Thank you for this. I have a sleeper sofa that is in my kitchen that needs removed because we are having a piano delivered. I only have an SUV to haul it to the dump. As a carpenter, I realize that someone put it together, so I'll be able to undo it with the tools I have. Watching this makes it easier. Thanks again!
Man this is exactly the video I wanted to see to do my project next week. I have to disassemble ex lg sofa in basement to get it up and out to be trashed. Thank u and bless u. I know my boys Tim and Jr’s backs thank u too.
Glad I could help
A great talk-through during the dismantling. Thanks for the video - love from England.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I have dismantled a couch before and am about to do it again with a loveseat. I just used basic tools, pliers, hammer screw drivers, drill and box cutter.
I live in a small apartment complex that does not look the best and IT DOES NOT HELP WHEN PEOPLE ARE TOO LAZY to dismantle the furniture and toss it in the dumpster but would rather pile all that junk up on the SIDE OF THE DUMPSTER!
I care too much about my community and where i live to do that foolishness.
Sometimes someone could use that furniture. If its in good shape that is better than filling a dumpster and sending it to the landfill.
I was wondering how long that Pepsi would stay on, lol.
Lol
Thanks!! You are a legend. Gotta do this now too. Old sofa to big to go back out as a whole!
Thanks for the posting. Very helpful, saves me a lot of time and money!
Thank you!!!! I need to get rid of a sectional that will be a nightmare to take down my narrow stairway. Definitely going to take it apart instead of risk damaging walls and damage myself in the process lol I'm hoping it will be easy like this one
Not all sofa's are the same if it doesn't come apart like this one, take a saw saw and just cut it into pieces.
Thank you
Great video
He did it in 15 min !!!! Thats what Im gonna do.I have the same type sofa.I think I hope!!!
Carol Almeida you can do it if you have the same sofa it’s easy

Your welcome
I just purchased a used Victorian style couch from the 60’s. I’d like to keep the back but convert it to a high back sofa, considerably higher that it’s current height. Do you think I could do something like this; add a new section to the the base, re-attach the existing back on top, then have it upholstered? I’m curious what your thoughts are as I haven’t worked with furniture. Thanks!!
Lady Frederick anything is possible. As long as your able to match the base to extend it and it’s able to maintain itself once you upholster it you won’t be able to tell what’s underneath. What will be tough, would be matching any decorative wood trimming that is exposed. If the detail is very intricate.

What tool do you use in the end?
The piece that's on the impact drill is a universal socket which you can get at Home Depot.
If that's the one your asking about, I hope I answered your question.

Lol
Dude you high
That awful music makes the video torture.
Annoying music!! In reality every other sofa is different. Your video is showing every extraction. Hey guys, much easier to buy yourself a saw all and be done with it in 30 min, not hours!!! Haaaaa
