In Germany T-Roc is a lot of cheaper than the Tiguan and have better Performance with the same Engines

I went for T-Roc R line as recently had a below knee amputation. So why would I want a GTI. I previously owned Focus RS. BROKE MY HEART TO SELL IT.
So slagging it off doesn’t work for me. It’s practical for me

...spends minutes asking why VW built the T-Roc - then answers his own questions. Let me answer your question in a more direct way, more choices are a GOOD thing! There are those of us who don't want a Golf, but would buy the T-Roc.

I think the T-roc with this engine is good value for money. DSG, 190hp, 4Motion. Its still fast enough and 4WD is nice during winter. The Golf GTI cost a LOT more in my country, how can the Golf GTI be so cheap in the netherlands? Im jealous...
9:30 with the Discover pro infotaiment in an Volkswagen you would be able to set the map on aid an discover pro Display at the same Time. Only with discover Media not avaible
You do realize you never engaged Sport mode which completely changes the car into beast mode...
I feel like VW is currently banking on its brand value. Their cars have become considerably cheaper feeling than the previous generations. Their MQB platform is squeezing the soul out of their cars.
dieselgate...cost cuting
Cheaper for easier sales, VAG still is paying billions from dieselgate.
I can explain to you why it's an alternative since you repeatedly say you can't understand.
One reason: Easier to get in and out of.
We are not all young. I am 6ft4 and 50yo with a chronic back condition, and I always drove hot hatches or sports cars. Now I need something that sits a bit higher or it's too hard for me to get out. Is that an explanation? But people like me who want to be a bit more comfy may still not want to sacrifice performance.
Anyway, I settled on the Cupra Ateca VZx for a few reasons. I chose it over SQ2 cause of adaptive dampers and electric driver's seat vs manual adapters and seat adjustment in the Audi, and over the T-Roc R cause the rear legroom was better and the steering was simply better tuned, it feels like an actual hot hatch to drive. It also has a TON of real, tactile buttons. The lack of physical buttons on the T-Roc was the final death knell. I really hope they stop this new capacitive touch BS though it's not as bad as Tiguan. The Ateca is small but doesn't feel tiny inside like the SQ2 and T-Roc do which for me is a plus.
The only thing I would change about my car is less hard plastics, but only the Audi really succeeds there out of that trio, and lack of road traffic sign recognition in Australia (the Audi has this, but conversely misses out on Rear cross traffic alert/Rear AEB).
I tested those three cars to the end of the world.

From 10:00 there's so much "true talk". Not like sooo many German reviewers who are either paid by the car companies or get the cars to drive for free (for their own fun) and just talk sooo exaggeratingly well over a car.

I get where you are coming from, but 0-100 in 7,2 seconds is not slow by any means . If you drive faster cars on a regular basis maybe that's not impressive. But don't forget most cars on the Dutch roads are glorified 3-cylinder lawn mowers that do 0-100 in 15 seconds. Compared to the average car sold, it's a quick vehicle.
Just put a Tuning Box in it!. That would sort everything out.
Power: 190bhp - 240bhp
Torque: 320nm - 400nm
+ save up to 20% on the fuel economy
Oh and I would also put on a Peddle Box, to improve the throttle response!

You can have both Navigationdisplays on, but not with the T-Roc because this model only got the Discovery Media System. The reason you can get it in the Audi simply is, if you choose the Active Info Display in the Audi you NEED to buy the biggest navigation system. For example, my VW Golf with the Discovery Media Navigationsystem can either show it on the radio display or the Active Info Display, but if you buy the Discover Pro (the big Navigationsystem) you can have it on both. So Volkswagen gives you the opportunity to have the Active Info Display even with the smaller Navigationsystem which you CANT have in the Audi where you have to buy the big Navigationsystem. Why? I really dont know ^^ Nice Video!

I'm telling You why this car exists: for big citys like Berlin, where are no parking lots ! You want to buy a Tiguan - great ! Try to find a parking lot for it. A T-Roc fits better, because it's shorter, about 20 cm - that's a lot !!! Do You have family ? No ? So You don't need that much space ! How can You compare a Golf GTI to a T-ROC ???? That's not the same segment ! I want to sit higher, because I have a better overview, not for the reason I'm not 20 anymore. I'm sorry, but this is ridiculous. Why do You compare to Golf GTI ?...WTF I don't want a sportscar ! I want a City-SUV with a little bit more hp and that's the T-ROC !!!!

This car was my car in the driving school
I'll give you an idea why this car exists. If you're over 40, play Golf, and had a Golf R like I did, you can't fit golf clubs in the boot. You also get every boy racer in the city trying to race you. You never get any peace. It's the same with a GTi. Folk see a VW hot hatch and try to race you in a 1.0 Fiesta. Also, the boot in this is bigger so golf clubs fit in it no problem. I had a Tiguan R-Line and it's painfully slow, and the fuel economy in the 2.0 TDi is atrocious at 34mpg average. It's gutless too, and feels like you're sitting on it, rather than in it. 4motion is pretty hopeless compared to Nissan's 4WD system as I have a Tekna Qashqai, and that thing put the Tiguan in it's place in the winter. Even the Golf R 4motion system was better in the winter. Whenever I was driving the Tiguan I kept saying to myself "I wish this was just a bit smaller, and quicker", and I guess it's why the T-Roc exists. For over 40 golfers who still like to feel a bit of power.
I am confused to which engine to choose...
A)1.5 tsi 150 hp ....tax 0 € / 145 € per year (maintenance for roads)
B)2.0 tsi 190 hp ...6.000 € more for to buy the car and evey year i have to pay 1.000 € tax.../300 € per year for maintain the roads
And the big point i will use the car only 2-3 months per year.
Any reccomend?

In T-ROC i like just dsg and steering wheel
Its nice to see a pretty similar car of what we have here in Brazil.
Here we have Nivus or TCross (I own a TCross and thats the reason why I've got into this video), and inside it looks pretty much the same, besides the fact that our cars are "naked" compared to those who VW sells worldwide (Try searching for TCross interior on Google). And the engines we get offered here are 1.0 3 cylinders TSI or 1.4 4 cylinders TSI, far more weaker than that 2.0 TSI (and we also don't have more than 6 gears automatic transmissions and 4motion, it's all front wheel drive here, unfortunatelly).

I have the same engine in the Tiguan, slightly more detuned to 180 (Skodas and such have the 190 version, go figure) and I agree on the high end of the rev range. The car seems faster with 3/4 pedal then it feels while hammering it down. They also did some weird eco tuning on the engine for the normal drive mode that tries to keep you sub 2500-3000 rpm at all times making it feel like there is a dead spot on the accelerator. Sport mode definitely helps with this. I wonder if this 190 hp version does the same.
None the less the car feels far from slow, brisk even.. Not a GTI, but adequate for the type of vehicle it is.
So a chiptune would basicly fix that issue?
Its not fast but its not exactly slow either I believe it does 0-62 in 7.2 seconds

Thanks @autotopnl. Thanks for the review, this really makes me second guess buying one. If it would have adaptive dampers, would it not be a comfortable all wheel drive vehicle ?

If you're buying a cheaper Audi (Q3 and below) you can't have map on the two places either
Saying you should buy the GTI instead of the T-roc is a incorrect comparison as it is 25% more expensive (30k against 40k in NL). However you could get, for the same amount the new Polo GTI. Also this is only a comparison when you prefer drive ability instead of looks. Because be honest the T-Roc looks really cool.
This Guy is biased and is the wrong unbalanced individual who could have done this review. Mini car has a crap Citroen motor, and from a number of people who have had gearbox problems and so on.

I vote my 170hp A9 4x4 Renegade. Over one year together and 12kkm. Will love and buy countryman jcw but was just ridiculous to expensive.
Please do a review of the facelifted one with the same engine, to see if it performs defirently. Or compare it with the new 150 TSI engine.
My 2018 Tiguan's transmission is jerky under certain conditions and when you rev it in the lower gears the sound is pretty rough and annoying (clattery, diesel-like, you name it).
It would have been nice if VW had redesigned the golf and make it look like this T Roc with it's some fast engine . Because I really like the way the T Roc look but it's to slow and not enough horse power.
It's a lot better with a remap 248bhp. Stage 1 and it's sorts the rpm out.
Those roads that don't separate oncoming traffic though

I'd take the Tiguan over this. But if the Toureg was available in my country i would have taken that in a heartbeat.

Troc r Line is £34,000 and Tiguan r Line is £37,000 so it’s not a couple of grand lol... and for £38,000 I’d rather get a Q3 😂

It's very simple the reason that this car it's not better than a golf. VW doesn't want a car that could sell more than a golf, because that will mean workers reduction. This car its worse on purpose. Do you even know that the rear bumper has been modified to be uglier than the Audi Q2 bumper. That it's many more that we can see in manufacturers politics.
See what happened with Nissan. They simply quit from hatchback and they are just returning now

dsg only is just for 4motion, the rest of the 2 wheel drive range has a manual as well. Pretty much Golf R is the only car vw makes with 4motion that you can get with a manual, the rest is just dsg
