I don't know anyone who has dedicated himself more to hang gliding. I know he has shown you his film that he made with his brother. He is and always will be the champ like on the Wheaties box in my mind. I will post that film soon. I hope I can add Disco Inferno. It won't be the same without it.
Oh my God, this brings back memories I had a WW SST (super swallowtail) That thing flew so well It was amazing compared to my 13 ft standard Bennett water tow glider
How did the guy at 17:04 not get hurt?!?! Also all those flares on base bar, were those old gliders so different to land than modern single surfaces? I even own an WW Alpha but can't really flare from base bar as they are doing here.
Thanks Ken
Good to see video of Bob Wills flying one of his own designs in his element. I remember the day he passed. It was a tragic loss for the HG community.
And Brian Porter (the winner in this video) placed 5th in the 2022 Class 2 Hang Gliding World Championships, 46 years later!

@@weflyuniv Still flying Swifts with Brian! Scott Weiner
@@2Airzhumn I so admire all my flying friends who keep up with the substantial demands of hang gliding. And I am jealous as well.

Had an SST 101 - modified with pulleys and cables along the leading edges. Great glider.
Too much speed, too much glide... oh, what a bummer! =) Nice to hear Bruce Waugh's name mentioned. Thanks for posting, Ken!
