  • Good Friday was the only day of the Bank Holiday that the weather was good so a large number of members of the South Devon Garden Railway Group gathered at Buckfastleigh to play trains. 16 mm Narrow Gauge and Gauge 1 trains were there in abundance - at one time I believe there were 7 trains running at once. A good selection of them are featured on this video.

interesting to see gauge one and narrow gauge side by side. oh! and some sun. that was a total shocker.

the big locos IN GAUGE 1 are excellent in steam, but still have issues with the little ones on narrow gauge, as the all GO TOO FAST.

We strive to run narrow gauge trains at a realistic speed, but our layout is quite large and some members of the public get bored very easily if it takes too long for a train to complete the circuit. Compromise is therefore the name of the game. However , if you compare the speeds to previous videos I think you will find we have slowed down quite considerably.
