Well unless acnologia or zeref doesn't die in this arc the story might continue, besides that I think this could be the final arc or maybe after this arc the next one will be the 4th generation of fairy tail
I don't think this will be the final arc of FT. Pacing of the story would be thrown out of cohesion if both Zeref and Acnologia are downed in the same arc. I also don't think either of them will be conclusively defeated in this arc. From what I can tell, Fairy Tail will probably eliminate the threat of the spriggans and then all the Natsu turning out to be END drama will be settled (possibly in it's own entire arc) before either Zeref or Acnologia is taken care of.
Also there is potential to continue the series like more of the 18 Gods of War(maybe Ikusatsunagi was the weakest or he wasn't at 100%). Also, since the last chapter of Tartaros we've been asking what will happen between Gray and Natsu. That is a very big set up. At some point, Natsu should be Igneel's level and Lucy be Anna's level gaining the tittle of strongest Celestial Wizard I heard rumors that in a metro con in Japan, they talked about two posible future arcs called Ouroboros and Totemic so that can be a possibility. For me, Alvarez arc is just a set up for the real final big arc. Zeref doesn't even look worried that 7-8 Spriggans are taken down. Maybe all is just part of a plan or some shit like that. Even Eileen said that even if she didn't use Universe One, Alvarez would win if Acnologia didn't appear. Someone as intelligent and powerful as Eileen shouldn't have that kind of idea specially when in that moment more that the half of the Spriggans where "taken down" already
I would like Natsu and Lucy's oldest son and daughter Igneel and Layla to be Celestial Mages. Maybe they would be Celestial Dragon Slayers with their Draco Star Dress and Suit, Fire_ Foxena.☺
Honesly, F.T next generation would be interesting especially with new characters as their children but I would miss the main ones. I also think that this is possibly be the last arc (hopefully not tho) bc with Gray knowing Natsu is e.n.d and the guild's on a war with Zeref and haven't defeated acnologia, I think F.T wouldn't end so soon (there's alot to learn more abt their pasts etc). But we'll never know what will happen after this arc&the fact that mashima-sensei is full of surprises
I would love to see a continuation staring the next generation, provided that they do it right. I've seen a lot of next generations of animes just not be too good.
I would prefer that after FT ends(Hiro said it will have 600+chapters so we still have AT LEAST 2 years and potentially 3), Hiro works in a different story and not a next generation. Actually, when he was publishing Rave Master, he was working in the prototype of FT. He actually said in an interview like in 2012 or 2013(during the GMG arc) that he had an idea of a possible new series but that FT was roughly at the half(at the time! the series was bit above chapter 300)
It would be cool but I think it would have someone from this generation as guild master like (I'm not saying they will be I'm just saying some names) lucy,erza,Mira, levy,Gray,juvia,natsu,laxus,ext... I don't think it would go so far into the future that someone like wendy or Romeo is guild master but it would be interesting

No, Fairy tail hasn't ended, they're just pausing the anime until early 2017 or something like that so that they can finish the manga... And Fairy tail Zero is an arc that basically shows Mavis's past and how fairy tail was founded.
