- In this video I demonstrate how I created some beautiful paint pours/ skins which I collaged into my final work: “Edge of the Lake”. One day I was playing around with paint pouring onto a silicone mat. After I poured the dirty pours I slipped my hand under the mat and realized I could manipulate the paint textures due to the flexibility of the mat. When it was dry it was easy to pull off the mat. This discovery inspired me to create the water and reflection effects for my painting.
We have recently moved to the top of Lake Macquarie NSW Australia. This painting was inspired by a Spoonbill I saw wading on the edge of the lake.
Currently I am continuing to add to my series which I began when I was living in Sydney. This series is titled “From the Garden, Bush, Lake and to the Sea” These paintings are visual narratives of my deep connection and exploration of my immediate environment.
