Honestly,Lifeguards never get the attention they need. They literally save so many lives,Yet some people don’t even acknowledge them. All lifeguards around the world have my respect!
CPR on the young man was an incredible. As a paramedic, I have administered CPR many times. However, achieving a return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) and such a positive outcome is rare. It was heartwarming to see how grateful he was for the work you guys did and for his second chance at life. Capturing it all on video made it unique. Usually, I'm able to remain emotionally detached, but this really got to me watching it
Yes, it is very common for ribs to break during CPR, especially in older patients. As the patient is considered dead and chest compressions are the only means of maintaining circulation to provide oxygenated blood to the brain and body, broken ribs must be ignored. Most of the time, the broken ribs do not cause further injury. If the patient survives, the broken ribs will heal.
@@becky2235 That's though to answer as there are many aspects that influence CPR-Outcome - and those are complex - . Though we tend to see ROSCs more "often" when we resuscitate young patients and also when we happen to be on the spot during the patients cardiac arrest. The second is also the reason for why amateur basic CPR is so crucial.
Loved how Harrison dealt with the guy on the beach,he kept a level head when necessary and was so brave. You could see the concern on his face.I bet his parents are proud of him.
I was taught San Francisco "lifeguard rules---always save yourself first---if you let the patient pull you under, you're both lost." What would you teach at Bondi? You guys have the guts, the glory, and the heart ❤️. Saving that kid was amazing!
These guys are such heros every day but they just want to do their job and help people. They expect nothing but are grateful for a thank you. I am so glad guys like this exist. Makes my day every time I watch. Thank you guys!
Lifeguards deserve so much more attention and recognition for what they do they save hundreds of lives and still some people don’t even acknowledge them guards around the world should have the some sort of respect from everyone they deserve a lot more
I have never seen such a great group of people that go above and beyond to make sure everyone is safe. Hats off and much love and well wishes to you all. Thank You for always being there for the public.
Another reason why im so for sign language in schools. Imagine if they saw a grandma signing frantically through the binoculars earlier. Also the life gaurds would be able to reassure the grandma. ..... At least no matter how dangerous Australia's nature is, the people will do what they can to ensure you dont die. Recovery level Asian, wakes up from death, tries to stand instantly 😂
Just found u guys from tiktok and I'm obsessed with these videos! The amount of endurance and strength and passion shows with every rescue. I like they explain everything and educate the viewers if faced with the situation. The #2 rescue had me crying even though I've seen it. So powerful. Keep up the amazing job ❤❤❤❤
Imagine how surreal it must be to actually see yourself, your own flesh, your body, clinically dead. And then you see yourself regain consciousness. How must it feel to literally see, on film, the moment that your heart starts to beat again? That must be utterly remarkable.
Am a Kenyan n been watching this Bondi rescue clips and I love the lifeguard's work so much. They should be really appreciated for what they do so as to save lives
People who haven't really experienced these types of waves before often have no idea what they are in for. Really really gotta respect the signs, they are there for a reason!
As a child, I had a near-drowning experience that has left me with a lasting fear of deep water. Even now, if the water gets above my shoulders, I feel panicked. While I enjoy going to the beach, I make sure to stay within my comfort zone and avoid venturing too far into the water. I sought professional help to overcome my fear, but unfortunately, the doctor told me that it is ingrained in my subconscious and cannot be fully conquered. Similarly, I have a fear of heights, but I have been able to manage my anxiety over the past 20 years. My first airplane trip to Hawaii helped me overcome my fear to some extent, and while I still have some fear of heights, I am able to control my panic.
The one where the Korean student drowned suddenly made me imagine that happening to my boyfriend (who is Korean and was also a student abroad in my country when we met). Made me want to go find some videos on CPR technique. I've been grateful to have gotten training in swimming lessons, high school PE, and at work once, but that was all a few years ago and imagining a scenario where it happens to a loved one (which for some reason has never really occurred to me) makes me want to top up my confidence so I'd be ready if it happened. Might even write some simple notes to keep in my wallet in case I forgot the "rules" under high stress
i remeber being younger and almost drowning and him describing how he felt just before he almost died it accurate to my story you feel comforable then slowly fade away
where can I watch the other seasons if I’m from the US? I recently found this show and I’ve already watched all the six seasons on RUclips but I want more!
What is the working hours for these guys?Is there a morning and afternoon shift? Or when the come on in a morning, are they there unit the end of the day?
From the Waverley Council website: High season (October to April): 6am-7pm, Monday to Sunday (that’s what you’re seeing here) Low season (May to September): 7am-5:30pm, Monday to Sunday
After watching a lot of bondi I've seen that the boys see when people struggle and often go in when there could be just the slightest chance that the people are in danger
They are wearing sun protection lip cream to stop their lips from burning. The one Harrison is wearing is tinted which is why it looks a bit of a funny colour. They often wear it on their nose and face too as they are out in the sun all day everyday.
I’ve never understood why the tower lifeguard can’t go down and help if he sees someone drowning… what good are you gonna do calling out people needing help if there’s nobody to send…
They can't go down because some one needs to constantly watch the water! It saves more lives to have some one watch the water 24/7 on shift, and there are volunteers who patrol in the water sometimes! But even then the tower lifeguard needs to focus on the water and to call for first responders!
Life guards are amazing deserve so much respect……. I wish Jo public would recognise how personal a situation like this is, make a ring of privacy backs turned, don’t all stand there staring……. I’ve been in a situation, opening your eyes to a mass of strangers looking back and not knowing what’s what…… not nice…. The people that helped 🫡👊🏼🥰
The lifeguards do an incredible job day in, day out. Were there any other amazing moments you think should have made this countdown?
🛹 🐀 🪣
Any news on season 17 for international fans
I'm lit in Australia and went there yesterday and I loved it ❤🎉

Honestly,Lifeguards never get the attention they need. They literally save so many lives,Yet some people don’t even acknowledge them. All lifeguards around the world have my respect!
I agree if it wasnt for the lifeguards all these people would be dead
Yeah-
Poor Harrison didn't have any gear and had to risk it to save 2 Korean ppl and he almost drowned himself
Yeah! Mad respect ❤️

May I ask. When they pefrom cpr it looks like they're doing it on jelly or sumin so like does the ribs break or something

@@fngsalty9664 yea, broken ribs and/or sternum is very common during cpr
How often do you think you see ROSC? I know it's VERY rare!

Harrison is such a lovely young bloke. You could see the concern on his face.I bet his parents are proud
I bet they are too.I love Harrison, he is an amazing lifegaurd. One day he will make someone a great husband too.

These lifeguards are just amazing! It’s not easy work, it’s not just a “day at the beach”, it’s saving lives. Story 2 was amazing
I was taught San Francisco "lifeguard rules---always save yourself first---if you let the patient pull you under, you're both lost." What would you teach at Bondi? You guys have the guts, the glory, and the heart ❤️. Saving that kid was amazing!
It's just like in the military, when trying to save someone. You can't just go charging out into the field under fire
We’ve heard Hutz talking about the same rules here. He had to run to an after hours rescue with no board or tube.
These guys are such heros every day but they just want to do their job and help people. They expect nothing but are grateful for a thank you. I am so glad guys like this exist. Makes my day every time I watch. Thank you guys!
If there's two things we've learnt, it's to save yourself first, then help others. Secondly, just how amazing the lifeguards are!
Lifeguards deserve so much more attention and recognition for what they do they save hundreds of lives and still some people don’t even acknowledge them guards around the world should have the some sort of respect from everyone they deserve a lot more
It’s amazing too see that the lifeguards are doing their jobs and actaully saving people’s lives, it really warmed my heart to watch this.
I have never seen such a great group of people that go above and beyond to make sure everyone is safe. Hats off and much love and well wishes to you all. Thank You for always being there for the public.

Aren't they absolute legends. Keep up to date with your CPR, never know when you might be the only one who can save somebody.
Imagine how surreal it must be to actually see yourself, your own flesh, your body, clinically dead. And then you see yourself regain consciousness. How must it feel to literally see, on film, the moment that your heart starts to beat again? That must be utterly remarkable.
Saving life's every day. Great work.

Have you sought help of a psychiatrist that uses hypnosis to help their patients?
love the way even in a serius situation harrison as it was then made a joke

I'm watching now
Keep up the good work of saving life's
It's 6:10pm here in Florida
beach never safe without lifeguard
It's safe enough if you grew up around the beach but most being rescued are inexperienced in Australian surf conditions
Just wondering why parts of number 2 blurred out
RUclips requirements.
It’s not blurred on Australian TV.
Why are parts of 2 blurred?
RUclips probably would take the video down… just my guess
I was wondering the same. I thought maybe RUclips restrictions but those same parts are included in my unblurred in other videos on this same channel.

JK but not really, It's so great to find something you love and your good at!
In switzerland this starts exactly at 12 pm, kinda late but whatever
Starts at 11pm in UK
12 noon is late? Or does it start at 12 am?
In America it’s tomorrow at 5 PM

This is a tv show? This is amazing
This is a tv show which is real.It is factual not fiction.
Yes. It’s made for the 10 Network in Australia.
How long have you done this job for
First
I had the same situation as the number one here and I managed to do it with an inflatable tube that I got the kid to grab on To because he was crazy
What if people dont put there hands up when there struggling to stay afloat?
After watching a lot of bondi I've seen that the boys see when people struggle and often go in when there could be just the slightest chance that the people are in danger
Most of the time, drowning is not obvious as you say. Hands will be at the surface trying to swim.
💪🏼💪🏼
浅いところで泳いでいたはずが急に砂が深まって溺れかけたことがある。
届くか届かないかくらいの波の高さで声を出してるのに海水を飲んでしまい声が出ずもう少しで溺れるところだった
That sounds like what the lifeguards call “being swept off the bank and into a gutter” where the sand has been washed away by a rip.
Why do these people go to that beach if they know it is so dangerous?
You just have to puch go boys
What is the photographers name I've listened more than once but can't seem to get it
Eugene, pronounced you- jean.

Why do they always have strangle coloured lips like at 7:52
They are wearing sun protection lip cream to stop their lips from burning. The one Harrison is wearing is tinted which is why it looks a bit of a funny colour. They often wear it on their nose and face too as they are out in the sun all day everyday.
Yes, often called “pink zinc” in Australia. It now comes in lots of shades & tints.
