I had an accidental fall walking back to my delivery truck on 07/21/21. I had an X-ray on that day of my right hand and other tests because of my fall. I had an MRI on my right hand on 08/05/21. But I had to lay on my stomach with my right arm and hand over my head. For the 25 min MRI scan it was very uncomfortable to lay like this. Seeing how your MRI scan on the hand is a much better way to get this scan, then what I had to go through. I'm now seeing an Orthopedic Doctor for my Multiple bone contusions. Bone marrow edema/contusion in the 3rd and 4th metacarpals and in the proximal phalanges of the long and ring fingers.

I am so sorry this happened to you. Have you fully recovered? I hope your Workers Comp is sufficient for all your medical expenses. Consider a career change.

it would be fun to hear particular noises pertaining to what study someone is getting. For example - brain mri a DTI would be good to hear so they are not startled. And for hand, maybe a T1 sequence.

Good job. This is much better than lying on your stomach. The patient is comfortable and not in pain.
Tri-City Hospital placed me in the superman position and it was very painful on my shoulder and wrist.
    Headphones were also not provided.

This is nice. I wished all facilities had an wrist coil like this for patients to lay on their back during a wrist exam. Laying on stomach position definitely is a pain for my patients.

I did this today and was in so much pain. I had a spinal fusion and it causes me pain 24/7. The coil like this could have saved me so much pain and tears today. I could barely walk when I left out.

Can you tell me why the radiology did my MRI differently than this and clearly made a huge error on my hand? They had me lay flat on my stomach raise my hand and then put it in a cuff. The scans were poor at best. Incorrect due to I broke my finger but the doctor reported the middle finger unremarkable. I clearly have a broken finger via X-rays from emergency

It depends on the type of mri scanner. Not all facilities have this type of scanner. Unfortunately yes patients will have to lay on their stomach for this kind of exam. There are no other way around it. I am an MRI tech, it would be nice to work with this scanner cause of the type of wrist coil provided for the pts to lay on their back .

What? So they could have had me lay on my back instead of my stomach with my arm up and going numb. I can't lay on my stomach without severe back pain but we had to mri my hand. I was in so much pain and they refused to stop when I told them I was in too much pain. I was in tears and they had to help me move so I could get up. This position would have caused me zero pain. I'm so pissed now.

@@blackmirror7418 and how did it go for you? I have it for my right hand and already go through anxiety thinking about it. The doctor has prescribed me a tranquilizer, but I am not sure if I want to take that, because I have to drive myself back home.

@@ferrytodd1758 Sorry for responding that late haha, but it wasnt that bad! The only thing is, that the noise was louder than expected, but you'll get headphones and I think you'll be listening to music as well. After all, its not a nice experience, I hope i have never to do it again, but its okay. When you already had your MRI: How was ist for you? For me it was my right haind/wrist as well
