  • I call it a Fat Rocket! So thick and fat it almost sounds dirty.
This little piggy will withstand the big bad wolf and let you catch anything you paddle for

best small wave board I've ever ridden! paddles like a dream, drives down the line fast, and turns on a dime with the right fin setup. I'm running the fcs II PG matt biolos edition split keel quad and its absolutely perfect.

For the big guys: I've got mixed feelings. I'm 6'0 and 212lbs. I have the 5'8", and the board has enough volume for me (feels more floaty than my 6'5" shortboard), but paddling was slow due to it's blunt/fat/short shape, and duck-diving a little difficult (probably due to wide shape). I haven't yet tried it in mush, but on steep wave faces it's not the right board. On steeper waves it hangs up and prevents early drop-ins. I never go over the falls but I did today. Once on the wave, however, it does generates a lot of speed, but on those steeper waves it wasn't very confidence-inspiring. I normally use my weight to my advantage and push like Occy in my turns, but this little fat pig had a mind of its own. It either spun out, hung up, or was otherwise unpredictable. Bottom line: use as intended, in mushy crap. Do not use in anything steep. (currently using MR -TFX fins - made for fish, with a small center stub fin).

way late, but are you looking to sell your flying pig? I've been frothing to get one but Boardworks doesn't produce these anymore.

of the brand, what board will be better for a beginner rider? Mini Mods or the Flying Pig? either more forgiving?
