This is NOT rated NC-17. This is the original 'nc17' version, which is the name of the album. The song got remade for their 'Maybe It's Me' album, which also has a video.
Hello, Yes, I was. I'm Morris Palter. I started the band with Greig and Bill, about 1.5 years before Rosie joined. WAY back when we started we were called Warehouse then became NC 17, then became treble charger. I played on the albums NC 17 (Red and 10th Grade Love, our 1st two vids), Self = Title (Even Grable and Morale our next two vids), then most of "Maybe It's Me." I played on "Ever She Flows" and a few others. After tc, I did my masters and doctorate and now am a University Prof. Morris
Cool to read a lot of the comments. Glad to see there is still lots of support for the early treble charger music (that I played drums on!). Happy New Year everyone.
So great reading all of these comments...that's me on the drums. Loved very minute of it. Best, and thanks to all the die hards who love the old-school treble charger. Much appreciated.
Self=Title set my musical taste. Amazing tunes, and the CD had a ton of other great Canadian bands I still listen to. I had to special order from the CD store after I saw this video, and it didn't even have Red! I got NC-17 next.
I'm a 63 year old American that has loved Treble Charger ever since I discovered them on a Canadian music channel on a Saturday morning many years ago. I was staying at a motel in Dryden and would always (each year) put this same station on to catch new music not available in the States. You guys are/were AWESOME.
All the Canadians in their early 30s are slowly bringing the view count up on all these awesome Canadian songs from the 90's.....this....Limblifter, Hayden, Age of Electric, Odds, MGB....etc. All awesome.

This version is clearly the superior one. I was never keen on their pop-punk reinvention, and just thankful Bill Priddle went on with Broken Social Scene, and his own solo work. Such an underrated talent.
Probably the best under-rated Canadian rock song of the last 25 years. The video footage though reminds me something that people watched on 'The Ring' before getting a phone call.
Yea a lot of people think TC as "American Psycho" or "Hundred Million", but they dont know that TC has made a variety of rock music which is why they are so underrated. The rest of "nc-17" and "Maybe It's Me" albums (both have "Red") are definitely worth listening. Their music is consistent and barely filler so there are other tracks that you'd like.

I was hired to play bass for a Vancouver band on a tour. Went and saw these guys play in Toronto. Right when American psycho was big. They were the coolest down to earth musicians I met on that entire tour. We were supporting Mystery Machine. Their bass player was pretty cool too.

One of my favourite songs ever. So much meaning for me. Saw them twice in concert. Never disappointed.
One of my favorites from the 90s.
This is one of the best songs ever. So good!
[Verse 1]
I saw you looking for a light
Face painted cigarette white
You asked the cleanest boy you found
You couldn't see me turned around
His fingers stretched across your empty gaze
But I just can't escape
[Chorus]
As the red fades from your wrinkled dress
A picture of the people you've impressed
Hangs on a wall around here
Vision starts to crawl when I'm near
And the evening waits
While you get caught up to your own mistakes
Made up of different lines
I wouldn't want to keep in my mind
[Verse 2]
I wondered why you'd come around
Remembering your little girl frown
Your answers kept the crowd at bay
With compliments unwilling to pay
I had some things I'd like to say to you
But they just can't be true
[Chorus]
As the red fades from your wrinkled dress
A picture of the people you've impressed
Hangs on a wall around here
Vision starts to crawl when I'm near
And the evening waits
While you get caught up to your own mistakes
Made up of different lines
I wouldn't want to keep in my mind
[Chorus]
As the red fades from your wrinkled dress
A picture of the people you've impressed
Hangs on a wall around here
Vision starts to crawl when I'm near
And the evening waits
While you get caught up to your own mistakes
Made up of different lines
I wouldn't want to keep in my mind
