When Toyota electronic parking brakes engage, they make a little weep sound, it’s an electronic weep. I would suggest driving to your local Toyota store and asking to listen to one of their cars engage and disengage a couple times to compare to yours. I just don’t suggest never using the parking brake for something so small that might even be normal, because you’d be missing the advantages of the parking brake (safety + less trans pressure when parked). I just realise that Toyota Highlander hybrid and petrol are make not much different from the fuel consumption, I meal Toyota Highlander petrol can travel around 660kms in full tank of 68L, and hybrid model is around 680kms in full tank of 65L, it’s not make much difference for me. And Toyota office website put 6L/100kms in hybrid model, if 6L/100kms, it should run 900-1000kms, but every time I filled up the fuel, it show in clock are only around 680Kms, it goes about 10.5L/100kms, just like patrol model does, and their engine are 2.5L and 3.5L, that power are far different.
