A really good job once again, Luci! Took a bit of a valiant battle with the limitations the Game Boy gives us, but I'm very happy with the result. It feels much more "RBY" for it. I can't wait to see how people react to the theme for the first time!
It sounds crazy, but imagine putting a sound expansion chip in the game. The bass calls me powerfully, it sounds different and gives the music a unique style.
Johto ( GSC ) really did up the previous Games Alot . But lets see how a Modern Take " will deal with it . Music seems pretty cool and the sprites too so far !
@@lucishrimp interesting, i’ll have to take a look at that. I’m currently doing all my romhacking directly in the pokered files (i just moved over to the crysaudio version though)
Crystal Tracker is a game changer! (pun unintended). I’m finding i prefer to do the editing in notepad++ but getting the almost instant feedback in Crystal Tracker is a major time saver. I was previously using the pokemid midi converter but having quite a lot of issues with that. Thanks for the hint

Then the music wouldn't sound right on real hardware unless you put that chip into the cartridge.

They have their battle theme in X&Y although they share it with Mewtwo.

I guess you are using pokered-crysaudio as a base right?
Indeed! The tool I used is called Crystal Tracker, and I used crysaudio as the makefile base.
