Hello, and thanks for all your nice comments! I have to admit, i was not really prepared to address any comments but I'm glad many people seem to see some of the same magic in her that i do. I thought i would try to address some of the things you have brought up with this message. First of all, her vet checkup went well! She was deemed very healthy and we have learned a little bit about her past. Apparently her previous owner discovered her in the wild. Apart from this we know almost nothing other than that she was RFID marked in 2014 and estimated to have been born in 2012. So she is likely a couple years younger than we thought, which is great! Several of you have expressed concerns about her roaming outside and yes i agree there is risk involved. However, she has been roaming outside her whole long life already and i feel like keeping her inside at this point would be a tragedy. But luckily she stays close when she is by herself and only wanders further away with me. The closest roads are well outside her range and there are few predators here which can hurt her. I worry most about foxes, but usually they leave cats alone, and she is a fairly large and powerful female cat at 4,5kgs and her fur makes her even larger. She is also usually much more alert and cautious while outside even with me around. I worry sometimes but at the same time i really think she knows very well how to manage herself. Not shown in this video is how athletic and playful she still is, as she loves to run, jump and climb. I have made a ton more footage since this was filmed and i hope to get around to uploading some more soon. Regarding DNA tests, i can ask the vet next time whats involved. I would not bother her much for example with syringes purely for my own curiosity, but otherwise it could be interesting. To me, she is an absolutely textbook forest cat how i personally know them, and also from any descriptions i read. Some of you have likened her to a siberian or maine coon, and i can see why as they can be very similar in both behaviour and looks, but to me they have distinctly different faces. When i pet her after she has been outside in the cold, her head transforms from fluffy and round to surprisingly sharp and distinctly triangular, with a powerful jaw and nose area and very slightly curved nearly flat nose ridge. Also, her paws and claws really are exceptionally large and powerful. But her fur is by far the most striking i have ever seen in person. Especially in its full winter glory like in this video. Anyways, im happy for your interest in her and this video and i would love to show more of her
You said, "She is also usually much more alert and cautious while outside" and "she knows very well how to manage herself". Yes! She seems to be a most intelligent and self-confident being.
I lost my dear weegie Winston a few days ago. We had a very special bond, and I am devastated. But watching your videos has proven to be a balm on my broken heart. Thank you.
Hey! I'm so sorry to hear about your loss of poor Winston. I saw your video and he seems like an incredibly precious cat and the bond between you is very visible! I appreciate your comment and i'm very glad if my video could help a little bit. Rest in peace Winston🫶
Thanks for sharing the beautiful video. Your cat friend is gorgeous and so is the scenery. It's so sweet how you had to keep cutting because she was coming toward you for head butts
A most magnificent feline!!! Her unusual markings only enhance her beauty! She certainly seems to be adept at outdoor excursions, so I think you are a very kind pet owner to allow her to be in her element. Looking forward to your uploading other footage of your spectacular Norwegian Forest cat!
What a beautiful cat! I have a large, fluffy calico. We raised her from a kitten so she is inside. She has escaped a few times and seems to enjoy it but she's much safer inside. Don't know what I'd do if she got lost. This lovely girl looks a LOT like my Cali. Very independent. There is nothing like a cat!
As the “mother” of three Norwegian forest cats -two of them think so, the third one considers the other female her mother and respects me as a welcome guest- it feels wonderful to see your beautiful cat roaming along the forest with you. Mine are sadly confined to a smaller territory. I live in a semi-rural area, but too close to a big city with too many cars and “sports cyclists” to make a walk safe. It is gorgeous to see her!
I only have a small part of my my heart that still beats. Cats have the power to stop it beating 😢 beautiful, remarkable exotic creatures , such darlings.
She is stunning! She also looks like a Siberian. DNA test kits can be purchased. Norway looks like where I’m from in Wisconsin. Please protect your beautiful kitty when outdoors. Thanks for posting this!
I had a tortie Maine Coon cat years ago. She couldn't have been sweeter. She was the most gorgeous feline that I have ever had. Bathsheba. She WAS a goddess! 💖😺😺😺😺😺😺😺😺😺😺💖
Your girl is absolutely stunning. You can see her gorgeous soul (along with her outer beauty). She looks right at home out in the forest. Thank you for sharing your girl. From California.💕🐈⬛👋
What a beautiful tortie 😻 So lovely to see her out enjoying the forest, as though she is one with nature. 🐾🌲 I'm sure she has some of the best adventures out there! ☺
Mann, or hell meowww!!! My totorshell cat gave birth to kittens of the father being a hybrid NW WC!!!! Got 3 with one of them bigger than normal as male. Their markings well balanced of the head to tail double line.
We have an NFC names "Bella". She is 17 years old, but still going strong. She has been an indoor Cat all her life. She is really a wonderful friend, and we love her. I noticed your Cat scent marking along the way, so she can find her way back. :)
She looks just like my Georgie. We got her at 10 weeks and she just turned two. She is scary smart and quite the character. She is very opinionated and doesn't hesitate to let you know how she feels. She is a huge fluff ball and already weighs 12.7 lbs. She is not fat her framing is large and long.
Gorgeous looking cat, Norwegian forest cats are very smart and hardy cats.
You are so lucky this wonderful creature chose you.
Just noticed her little white "boots". Charming.
This calico Norwegian forest cat is stunning!
She is beautiful & graceful.
I'm just a beautiful cat admiring the equally beautiful scenery..... ahhhhh... ❤
Spring!!! What a beauty !!!
