    Great video! I’m an American that’s been living in Stockholm for 4 months and I love it here. I started watching your videos today and was excited when I saw this one!
    It’s worth mentioning that there is a great current Swedish hardcore scene with some incredible bands like Speedway, Sidestep, and Existence. The people have been very welcoming since I started going to shows here! The Flubber World compilation is a great way to find current Swedish hardcore bands!

      Thank you, and that's an awesome tip! I never really got into hardcore myself - I was more into the melodic punk and skatepunk genres. But regardless of style, I agree that punks are among the nicest and most welcoming people :D

    I'm from Scotland, I loved your breakdown but you missed a bit, there was a festival called Frasse Fixar Fest near Gothenburg that went on for 10 years from the mid 1
    2000s. Bands like Steve and the alcoholics, rebuke, from the tracks, hold hands, broken aris and so many others played it

    I love this video so much. I love how punk's brought so many people together over the years. Obviously for me, it was mostly all American punk bands, but a friend had some German punk tapes in the 80s. We were impressed that it seemed to have a lot of the same spirit all over.
    I know it's easy to laugh at older punks, but most of the people I know who were heavily into punk ended up doing a lot of cool things. Some didn't make it through, but those who did -- if nothing else -- have some great stories.

    • @ThreeStarVagabond
      @ThreeStarVagabond  Год назад +1

      It's amazing to hear how so many people can connect over punk. Across ages, across continents. There's definitely a lot to learn from older punks - I think it's a sign of people who are a bit outside in many ways. Outside the norms, outside the box that everyone should fit in. I think I'm going off topic but it's hard to express the feeling sometimes 😊

    • @ChristopherGronlund
      @ChristopherGronlund Год назад

      @@ThreeStarVagabond I agree. When we were all younger, I know it was partially about shock value, but...also having a certain courage to not just be like everyone else. As all my punk friends got older, they stuck to living the lives they wanted. They traveled on the cheap, ended up game designers or supporting themselves with music. Some went on to be cool suburban parents who ended up with the house everyone hung out at because their was no judgment there.
      And now that many of us are old enough to have grandkids (not me...never had kids, but friends have reached that point), their kids have that same courage to do their own thing. And that's great! 😀

    • @ThreeStarVagabond
      @ThreeStarVagabond  Год назад

      @@ChristopherGronlund I'm a bit too tired to think of something useful to reply, but I just kept nodding along when I read this! It's such a character defining trait, not necessarily being punk but standing out and following your own path in general!

    I remember Punk Rock so well back in the 70’s, I think they should call it the geriatric rock cruise, cause if I jumped around now as I did then the outcome is not going to be good😂. It was quite an interesting video, I think the punk movement was the same in a lot of places, the great thing about music is it can transport you back to a different times in your life. Joking aside, it was a fantastic video. We learnt you had two horns when you were teenager.

    Staten och kapitalet isn't by Ebba though.
    Krymplings was a bit of a joke, it was formed by members of other bands and was a way of protesting against artists trying to squeze as much money out of the market as they could, the name alludes to Grymlings that was a total sellout by some good, and some bad, artists.
    Many things like that "Definitivt 50 spänn" was originaly called "Absolut 50 spänn", but was forced to rename the records by the record label who made "Absolut"-records, again a protest against artists trying to get as much as possible from the market.
    There's an old saying "Punk's not dead, it just smells like it is".
