Thank you for uploading this. I loved listening to Francisco De Milano when I was an early teen. I got very ill when I was 13 - 14 and had to be hospitalized for nearly a year. I very nearly died. This music brought me much peace during that time.

I’m so charmed by your interpretation of these pieces. It feels as if I’m standing outside a window and overhearing someone of the time playing for their own pleasure.

Thank you for your kind comment. I have long thought I was born in the wrong century by about five hundred years, though it's hard to imagine that I would enjoy this wonderful music any more then than I do now.

I'm afraid Francesco da Milano didn't write any more of these, but you might be interested in my playlists, which contain a good amount of music for lute and related instruments: studio.ruclips.net/channel/UC6VoXNVtEGkLj0FVzl4aPAAcontent/playlists. Thanks for listening!

@@stephenarndt1943 how about uploading something of Kapsberger?

Thank you again for listening and taking the time to comment. Both Hopkinson Smith and Paul O'Dette have done substantial collections of Kapsberger, which I can recommend to you. They play his music infinitely better than I ever could.

I do. At the beginning of the video it says: "Home Recordings of a Self-Taught Amateur Musician, Stephen Wentworth Arndt" That's me..

    Very repetitive pieces. Sorry

I have spent hundreds of hours with Francesco da Milano's music and don't find his work repetitive at all. In his lifetime, he was known as "il divino" and is generally considered to be one of the greatest composers for the Renaissance lute. The fact that his music is still played and listened to 480 years after his death certainly says something about its quality.
