I am one of those with a very scary past. I was once absolutely out of control and have done lots and lots of things about which I am still ashamed. I'm very thankful that Jesus has changed my heart and my life.

oh i cried when i listened to this song. i am going through a serious legal battle with my ex, who was arrested for abusing my 3 year old son and i. he has been abusing me emotionally and psychologically for 5 years, and my son since he was about a year old. he promised to marry me 4 times, broke up with me 6 times, and so much more. i am now a single mom, and it is the hardest most difficult thing i have ever gone through. i literally have nobody, except God. and even then, i feel i have failed as a mother for not leaving sooner, or trying harder, i feel i have failed as a woman, for not listening and praying to God for the right answer, i feel i have failed my son, for not doing what was right for him. i have never felt so alone and afraid and lost as i do now. knowing that God is still there, no matter what mistakes i have made, makes me cry.
Upon reading this my heart was moved for my sister in the Lord, It has been four months since this has been posted but we know that God is not bound by time and space, so my prayer for her today is as if I had prayed at the appointed time. My dear sister, beloved by our Father, know this that God will bring beauty out of the ashes, and restore that which the locust has eaten, because of things in the past there is sorrow,and rightfully so, but the bible reminds us that sorrow may endure through the night but joy cometh in the morning, and how great a joy that awaits us, who walk in the spirit of life and Christ Jesus. No longer will we look to the past but rather we look ahead where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God, We set our thoughts on things above and not on things of the earth, Amen I pray that you and your son will grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord, Amen

He needs God's grace as well. if we cast the father out because of his past deeds then the little boy also gets punished having to grow up without his father. God desires for ALL children to come unto him. That not one will be lost. Jesus taught us that the good shepherd leaves the 99 to go and find the one. I think a lot of people totally miss the meaning of this song. Yes pray for the mother and son and support them but please pray for the father to turn his eyes to the one who loves him.
