Did skyline in october on the last sunny weekend they had there,i did a few detours and took my time,i did 43 miles in total on my cube stereo e bike with a 750 wh battery, eco all the way,got back to the trail centre with 10% battery left, battery management is key on this trail, brilliant fun tho! The best way to navigate it is with komoot as when you get to the top its very badly signposted, ive been lost a few times myself, the signs are so small in places you can easily not spot them.
Yeah I agree some sort of visible nav app is required. We kept missing the signs. the bike I was riding at the time even with careful power management couldn't do more than about 20 miles on a 620 battery. not sure why. My other ebike with careful battery management will do 40 miles on a 750wh. It wasnt the right bike for the job. I obviously need to go back and complete skyline! glad you enjoyed the ride
I’ve done a couple of routes at Afan and they were well marked so we did not get lost or need the GPS. I want to do Styline this year, is it not marked well?
We were following a GPX so that led is astray. It's probably signed up ok but we kept on going to fast and missing signs. Technology doesn't always work but it adds to the adventure if things go wrong from time to time
I have a Reign E+1 too, without diversions do you think it would make it round the whole trail? I normally get about 25-30miles with 2500-3000ft of climbing out of mine without being too stingy on power.
Im not sure. I have two ebikes . both yamaha motors one has 745wh battery which I will alway get 30miles out of even with a bit of turbo and some very steep climbs. However the giant with its 620wh battery im getting 20 ish. miles . I have much less less confidence in giant. Ive ordered a 800wh battery for it hopefully that will fix it!
