My 2015 M4 cost me around 54,336 (in British Pound Currency) with 425HP, so to me is way too much the difference between the two. I rather step-up mine to about the same 454HP, which will require less money in doing so. If I had that kind of money to spend it on a car, I would probably get something way much better than an M4 CS...
The peak power bump is a small part of the whole package. It was a package that really cured all of the short comings of the standard car. I do agree that in a better world with time to properly engineer and develops the car it should have be closer to this from the gate than the version that was offered.

For 89K it has to be at least as good as a 991 C2S with the PDK and PASM.... so no, no way in hell can it ever justify that price tag. Only way to make an M4 worth that much would be to give the 4.4 V8 from the old GTS an encore (with properly specced bearings)
future62 The bearings of the s65B44 were fine. In fact that was pretty much a perfect engine. It was only the s54 that had a bearing issue and even then it was caused by a manufacturer issue not design. It was only present in the first gen e46 and for only 3000ish cars.
I think this car is better than a 991 C2S if you want a track car and something you can haul young kids in. C2S just doesn’t have a big enough bag seat. I had a C4S and then GT-R and now a regular M4. This will be my next car.
Not worth it. Get a comp pack M4 add the MPE and the MPHAS or any exhaust and suspension set up of your choice and you've got a more practical and equally as compliant M4 for 30k less!

Alex Martinez that’s not necessarily true. As long as you keep the mods tasteful and with only OEM parts, should keep value the same or increase a little (if you’re selling to another enthusiast). I bought a 2016 M3 Comp and changed the 666M wheels on it to the lighter weight 763M wheels you get on these CS’s. One guy even came up to me in a parking lot thinking mine was a CS for a second lmao.

Lars Tofastrud BINGO! People really believe the only measure of a car is peak HP when it is not nearly the most important. The CS is a different car and resale will always show this as these cars will hold value well compared to the standard. It is crappy considering the M4 is an expensive car stock and there should be no poop versions of an M car offered. M should be the top and the more developed cars later on should just become the EVO versions offered in the place of the standard, NOT along side. Just my opinion though.
Think I'd rather buy a standard m4 competition package and then buy the new rs focus for the wet days keep the m4 for dey miles and the all wheel drive on the focus be handy on wet roads
It's a track car in my opinion, not a daily,too stiff for that, even in comfort if u hit any bumps or uneven surfaces at speed over 30mph, u feel everything, i mean that everyfreakingthing.
BMW was first in my favourite list among the germans, several years ago but now it's 3rd. No progress at all, with a few hp up and extremely high price. I would rather take the new rs5 with same performance, a very cool interior/exterior and £60k+.
I don't think you understand the purpose of the M4 CS. You would like the CS to be more like the M4 GTS- a track ready M4, *without being uncompromising*. Meanwhile, I think, BMW intended the car to be more track ready while compromising on the comfort of a regular M4. Hence, the hood from the GTS, the carbon splitter, the fatter steering wheel, the seats and lightweight door stuff, grippier tires, etc. You don't have a comfortable armrest because when you are tracking the car, you have both hands on the wheel. It's not a cruiser for B roads. It's a car you want to drive a shot distance to the track and floor it. What you probably want is a Competition M4.
Or just buy a Corvette Z06 for less money than all of them, and have both better performance AND better streetability, better ride quality, better build quality and reliability, and even better MPG. All of BMW's pricing is FUCKING RIDICULOUS now. Look at the open market, look at the other cars you can buy for that much money. You would have to be clinically insane to buy ANY BMW M models for what BMW is asking for them.
£90k for a slightly pumped up M4 with 460hp? With options that easily over £100k. When you can get C63S Coupe for £68k with options thats £80k which has 503hp and easily sounds better. Makes the high end M4 GTS seem abit pointless then.

really? I have a 2006 Cayman with a 3.8 that's pushing about 400 hp. I have not had a chance to take it to the track yet, but I do have to say that this car is a blast around corners. The ass end may kick out when pushing it, but it immediately hooks and then I'm gone.

S65 bearings were most certainly not fine - there are many documented failures!
Gazman its a very very overhyped issue. Less than 2% of the total production have suffered from this, and its mostly due to Owner incompetence.

Modding will only add loss of value and this CS will always be worth more on the market, especially over a modded car no matter the parts.

RelaxB go further. Used e92 330 for $15k, and the rest on go fast bits. Even further still, used e36 M3 for $7k and have gobs leftover. See the issue?
