As a 13yo we moved to Caerwys and from my bedroom window i could see Moel y Parc and Penycloddiau. Within a few days i packed butties and drink and walked to the summit of Penycloddiau. To me i had scaled my first mountain, Solo. I planted a small flag i had made and claimed the 'mountain' in my name. For the next 47yrs i spent countless hours watching sunrises, sunsets, mist rolling in from the sea, whatever the weather i have taken every opportunity to be up there to sample all of its moods and it has many! I've even ridden, on a fertiliser sack in deep snow, from the summit down to Afonwen, numerous crashes, gates and fences included. My love affair with a hill. Thank you. 🧔 👍
Well that was a truly lovely walk with epic stunning landscape. Love the out takes - the true tale of trying to upload your own videos...lol..thanks Will.
Another great video as always! I do love that you include interesting history with your walks. Pity you couldn't quite see Caerwys from up there. The out-takes gave me a good chuckle at the end! Very funny! Thanks for sharing with us Will. Diolch.
Thank you for doing these. I look forward to each video. It's very cool to see how near everything is in that part of the world. Loved the summit view into Liverpool. It's fun listening for Welsh words from my Duolingo lessons.
My local hill - I can be at the summit in an hour and a quarter from home, and I get up there every month or two. I come from the north though, not via Coed Llangwyfan (unless I’m feeling lazy and drive up to the car park). It’s a shame the visibility wasn’t better for you, because the view of Eryri is fantastic on a clear day.
Well Will, I started with a translation for chicken, now I'm walking up hills. Better get back to what I was doing but thought a "well done and keep going" would help before I go. Diolch Will
Thanks a lot! It's very interesting story and wonderful landscapes!
