I had so much fun figuring out H9-6. Just like you, I was in total shock when the enemies started flooding the map. Beating it pushed the limits of what my account could do.

since I noticed the recommended levels for these levels were a bit lower, I ended up bringing some of my less-used units
so I ended up bringing May
Turns out she was extremely effective (b/c of skill 2) against those low-flying guys, so I was really lucky
Stun and sleep grounds those hovering units, hehehe
I enjoyed using Ambriel in Chapter bc of the stun talent when the flying roomba boys are out of her range.
That enemies destroying the block thing must be the funniest thing. All I can think now is HG deciding on the mechanism when that case happen and they like "screw that, we'd just make them destroy the block" 😂😂😂

@@kyarumomochi5146 I honestly find H9-5 more boring because the opening is fast and detailed meaning many runs die there. At least h9-6 makes me think about my unit cycling
@@kyarumomochi5146 i suppose that's one way of looking at it, but the ranged tiles are mostly clustered around bottom right for H9-5 which sort of urges you towards a specific setup. The back half of the level is also not that bad compared to the rapid opening which just makes it tedious as you attempt to pass the opening to get to the end.
At least for H9-6 there are at least 3 routings that work depending on if you manipulate pillars, and it's mostly a check to see how you counter the mob rush before the boss than fighting the boss itself. I found the boss approach and mob spawns after to be quite forgiving compared to other maps honestly. It's mostly the mob rush that I see people wiping on.
@@kyarumomochi5146 The mob rush on top lane can be handled with Pinecone and Bibeak (4-star and free 5-star unit from CC shop) supported by a decent healer. The mob rush on bottom lane can apparently be handled with Cutter and Arene (if Eckogen's guide is correct), I personally used La Pluma supported by an anti-air unit. The boss can be stalled by two to three medics and a unit with sufficient RES (like Mousse, 15 RES at E2) or a sufficiently leveled/masteried healing defender, during which your DPS can be rotated and set up for the end phase. If you're willing to stall, you can kill the boss in as little as two pillars by saving all your pillars for the second phase, where it matters most. Otherwise I can see where the difficulty would increase dramatically.
If I remembered correctly, some guys back when this episode was released in CN said that it was as difficult as chapter 4...

Hypergryph’s been watching us brain dead brute force their maps with ops like Thorns, Surtr, Murdock, and Ch’engun. Then they were like “Wait a minute, if you look at the meta, you will notice it actually takes a lot of set up to pull off. Flagpipe only has Bagpipe to block. Ch’engun, Surtr, and Mudrock have high DP cost to block one lane. Then add in the amount of time it takes for their skills to charge up. Hell, we’ve been going easy on our spoiled doctors. Sending only a handful of trash mobs at the start of each stage. Why not send 30 elite mobs at them within the first ten seconds of the map? We should also add in enemies that punish you if you funnel them up into one lane. Let’s see their brains finally wrinkle after all the malding this will do to them.”

real life of me...... I saw H9-6 and 121 (has boss) i gonna break my mind for it..
ah yes ch9 - far more do-able than ch8 for a still relatively new player like me
though the pillar mechanic need some work for the last mission (and with snipers)
so many attempts messed up by just the timing a bit off to miss her or somehow the boss still having his shield down when reaching the next pillar for her etc...
at least I had texas in my team for the floating guys ;/

Just recently finished H9-5 and lemme tell you it was a pain even with Surtr and Chalter. Now I have to deal with H9-6
H9-6: every doktah's go-to for plenty of intense headaches and phone fps drops
