I thought this was going to be an amazing match, but I don't think he realized the gift he was working with.
Her impersonation of her mom will always be funny to me. The voice, the mannerisms, the face. It is glorious.

She's brilliant. Rare to see someone as talented and funny as Maria that is also a first class kind hearted person.
She is not on TV nearly enough. She is a delightful, original comic.

Holy cow.......man, how I miss this show!!!!!!! I watched it every night.....it was like a religious ritual. The Late Show with Letterman and then the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, the robot skeleton, the dancing horse, the girls with the hula hoops.....or was that on Dave? The whole magilla was incredibly entertaining and I loved it. Sigh.....gone.....gone.....gone are the days.
Maria Bamford is so great! I'm surprised she didn't mention anything about all the voices she does for the "Adventure Time" cartoon.

He interrupts her precisely at the moments when her punchline is supposed to drop. It's not accidental. Her excess of talent is not tolerated in a male infested industry and there are those who cannot abide a woman being funnier than they are.
You're paranoid. He just has a lot of energy. I think this was one of his first episodes too
These two should do a special together, write it with a few other comics and go for it.

FloraWest No kidding. So many hosts have to be the star of the show, not wanting their guests to get more laughs. It may have started earlier but Jay Leno really made the trend noticeable. For the most part Letterman let his guests speak. He was the best interviewer.
Letterman was great, but Johnny Carson and Dick Cavett were the best hosts for not interrupting their guests and really highlighting them. Although I like Craig Ferguson a lot, I love The Bams and I did kinda wish he had let her finish her story of the shadowy man in the hot tub. It's ok though, bc it flowed well anyway. She laughed and seemed to appreciate his take on it. It seems like Craig and his guests often really do enjoy chatting with each other. That's fun to watch. His interview with Robin Williams, for example, was EPIC. He may interupt, but at least he's not a dick about it like Leno. (Then again, Maria did clench her fist a few times. Maybe she was imagining "chopping him up, having sex with the bits, sprinkling the bits in a salad and eating him!" 😂)
