I like to call the approach you've described "advanced golden rule": "Treat others the way THEY'd want to be treated." I've usually seen it in different contexts (like what people find offensive, the line between kidding and bullying, etc), but it applies even more in relationships. And communication is always critical in any kind of relationship, whether romantic or friendship. (Don't assume the other person knows what you want if you haven't told them. On the other hand, if you have told them, and they still ignore you, then you can get annoyed.)
I think you really articulated and explained the meaning of "expectations" in a relationship really well. The thing is they both have to work on communication
I really like this podcast. I feel like you are trying to offer genuinely helpful advice and not just what you think society would have to say about it.
Saying that men should be the ones to initiate is a nice thing to say from your ivory tower. I think women forget that men wanna feel wanted too. When society dumps the responsibility of initiating on one sex it leaves things imbalanced. Equality doesn't mean only taking the good and none of the bad. Saying you understand the fear and then just going oh well makes me feel like immediately tuning out. Maybe I'm an odd guy , but I like a woman who knows what she wants and goes after it and that includes wanting a woman to make the first move. It's exhausting always being the one trying and having to weather rejection. Confidence is attractive to both sexes. If a woman made the first move I'd at a minimum give her a couple dates to see if things mesh well, if only because I'd respect the shit out of her for making that first move. There are insecure men though who don't see it that way and tbh they aren't worth your time. If a man rejects you trust me you dodged a bullet.
no seriously bailey, i loved this episode so much especially being post breakup after 9 months now of being single! this was so helpful and i wish i knew this stuff sooner😭😊🩷
I love this podcast bailey, maybe we can talk to each other on the phone someday soon cause i want to get to know you, I love you bailey, keep up the good work bailey 💕 💕 💕 😎
Why can’t women teach other to treat men like this instead of just expecting it? It’s 2023 and you want to be modern but then keep all the traditional things that men did in the past and still moan about the ‘patriarchy’ etc. you shouldn’t be entitled to just expect me to do all these things when you make no effort yourselves
Its not if he wanted to he would its if shes worth it he would because the statement if he wanted to he would is just dumb and absolutely lacks accountability on the woman's part.as a woman you gotta earn that value for men to think that youre worth getting the moon for and dying for great women get treated that way all the time so if your man is minimum effort with you then girl you better assess yourself and look yourself in the mirror because the feminist bullcrap that says all women deserve the best is a bunch of horsesh*t its supposed to be "great women deserve the best."
im so excited for thi episode i loveee talking abt how the whole “ if he wanted to he would “ isn’t really a fair argument I ALWAYS think about that.
No fr becuase “if YOU wanted too u should of.”
