OMG omg!!! Where has this been for the last 3 years? Absolutely stunning. Bravi to both--exquisite phrasing. Also, Lea has such a wonderful timbre...warm and bright, cutting yet soft.
Thank you so much for this upload! It was so good to see Léa Desandre with Arts Florissants on Aix Easter Festival on line streaming recently (and also with Jupiter Ensemble) . She sang this beautiful melody too ! It suits her voice a lot .
I, somehow intuitively, felt, that there must be a connection, so I opened Wikipedia. I had to change from English (my third "living" language {I count Polish and Russian as 241}) version to French (a language, that I have never learned truly and managed to forget almost completely) and there (fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lea_Desandre) it was: Influence of Natalie Dessay. Léa Desandre is an accomplished artist both in modesty of her performance and choice of repertoire. All that I wanted to say, is, that some continuity, some relation, which is akin to parenting, is a crucial element of culture, not only in art, but in science and in all other aspects of life.
If it be true, Chloris, that you love me, (And I'm told you love me dearly), I do not believe that even kings Can match the happiness I know. Even death would be powerless To alter my fortune With the promise of heavenly bliss! All that they say of ambrosia Does not stir my imagination Like the favour of your eyes!
Il est vrai que les ignorants ne perçoivent pas ce détail qui dénote une erreur d'approche de la musique, toutefois la chanteuse pose bien sa voix . Mes références ancienne: Mady Mesplé et Régine Crespin

I do wish women wouldn't sing this song given its title. That said, it's a polished performance from this lady; lovely voice; enchanting song. However, in the prelude I feel her partner is just a tad too heavy on the keys. In the postlude this tendency thankfully disappears.

Magnifique et sublime
Absolutely beautiful.
Beautiful!
Bellissimo, meraviglioso, fantastico.
Bach lives forever in many forms, disguises and references.
like what?
Like in this piece, right from the very start...
I couldn't agree more.
Cuando esta artista canta, la única respuesta es el silencio ante la belleza de la interpretación.
Bushels of love from Russia!❤️❤️❤️

Maravillosa Lea Desandre interpretando al músico franco venezolano Reinaldo Hahn.
ALE PIĘKNIE! :-) Bardzo mi się podoba.

Bravo!
Un répertoire méconnu mais qui devrait être plus chanté merci Léa

Damn, that skirt.
Camera person is kinda lost
Indeed the greatest mystery of the XXIst century is why Léa Desandre and Eva Zaïcik are called mezzos but not sopranos
Thought it was going to be air on a g string at first. Beautiful tho.

et la diction Française ?
Elle est parfaite, sa diction.
Beautiful, but what the fuck is the camera work on the close ups? It's making me fel sea sick pls fix xx
Your comment is pretty aggressive, pointlessly so.
Ce vibrato permanent est insupportable
