I have a Phalaenopsis Tetraspis C1 (my second one.... first one died), and it came in sphagnum moss. I decided to leave it in the sphagnum moss this time, and it is doing great! The roots are still vibrant and growing, and it kept all its leaves thus far (new for me lol). I can't wait to see them bloom. Miss Orchid Girl has some of the best species blooms I have ever seen :)
Just picked up my first species (speciosa) two days ago. It's just a baby and it came mounted on a wood board with sphagnum moss. I'm totally new to orchids and I'm starting with all phalaenopsis for now. I'm nervous with the baby😬 I am hoping I do right by all of them❤ Thank you so much for your videos... you have helped me soooooo much!
I don't remember you getting those stressed orchids :/ Was actually surprised. I got a bellina last november and I just observed and did what I felt was right, It has so many roots now that I may be tempted to repot when summer ends haha It has a spike with 2 buds now, I can't wait to smell a bellina for the first time :)
I think I was as sad as you! you could really tell you were about to tear up :/ I love phal species too much, it would break my heart to see them like that.
Hello Danny I love phal. Species! I keep mines in sphagnum moss and they love it, I have several producing new spikes, I can't way for them to bloom. Love your videos 👌🏻
Very informative video! Thank you! I have a question about your inorganic setup. I've recently started to convert my orchids to clay pebbles and I've noticed that I have molding issues on some of them. So far I only repotted the ones that require more moisture (Nelly Isler, Miltoniopsis, some Oncidium intergenerics, Colmanaras). I used a mix of small grade seramis and porous rocks and also pierced lots of holes in the plastic pots. I've been watering when it seems to approach dryness because I've been scared to let the clay pebbles dry out too much as I've learned from your experience that it can cause desiccation of roots. I figured I'd ask you for some advice since you've been growing in inorganic for far longer than me. Am I doing something wrong? The air circulation is the same as when they were growing in bark and sphagnum mix but I didn't have molding issues back then. In fact, it should be even better now because I didn't add ventilation holes to my pots back then. Strangely enough, the mold seems to appear on the best ventilated ares in the pot - the top and around the ventilation holes.
Hi Danni, I purchased a Phal. amboinensis at a local orchid greenhouse that's in spike. I know...I'm super fortunate to have a specialist not too far away. It's in a clear plastic pot with a coarse bark/LECA/charcoal mix. For context, winters here last for 4 months, so indoor central heating keeps the air pretty dry and indoor night temps are in the low 60s. I'm wondering...Should repot it in sphagnum moss or just wait a year to let it acclimate? I definitely want it to bloom this year, so I assume any disturbance would keep the spike from developing.
Hi Dany i bought a species phal zebrina last 2020. Can you give me care advice about this plant. It has spikes when i got it but never developed into full bud until now. Pls advice. Thanks
I love watching your videos about phalaenopsis orchids and learning how to take care of my own phals but I have a phal that has a yellow leaf and two of the other leaves seem to be flattening out why would they be doing that do you have any idea. I would post a picture but I can't figure out how

Hey danny😊 my orchid is sick pr something bec. Everytime it produces a new leaf the leaf will have wavy edges and when it grows the last leaf at the top it will bend towards the front. Now my orchid is growing a new growth and a flower spike which has only one bud and the new growth has this curly edges on the leaves and the new growth doesn't want to produce roots... Every time it grows a root tip, it will not continue to grow. I don't know what is happening to it.😊 please help me😊 (it is a dendrobium phalaenopsis
