Originally performed by The Call in the 80s, Celldweller's takes the emotionally gripping track and modernizes it as an alternative/shoegaze epic in homage of original songwriter, Michael Been, who passed away in 2010.
"I really loved “Into the Woods” by The Call. I thought Michael Been was a brilliant songwriter and lyricist but their sound was generally a little more traditional than I liked. I wanted to take this lyrically powerful song and produce it in my style which fit perfectly within the vibe I wanted on this album." - Klayton (Celldweller)
Offworld, Celldweller's fourth vocal-based studio album departs from the project's signature sound of aggressive guitars, blasting beats and ass-kicking intensity and delivers a journey of sentimental feels and emotionally gripping tracks, showcasing the intimate song-writing side of project mastermind, Klayton.
The album's 11 tracks range from the soul searching "How Little I Must Know," to the modern shoegazer "Echoes," the somber a cappella "Mother's Arms," to the acoustic guitar driven "The Great Divide," and the heavy, yet atmospheric vibe of "Last Night on Earth." The album begins and ends with the title track & reprise of "Offworld," which gives the album a narrative backdrop as a sci-fi adventure of leaving the world behind - perhaps to explore a new one or join life on the other side, closing the album experience with a familiar Celldweller lyric... "we will never die." The digital/CD version of the album include a bonus remix by Ulrich Schnauss (Tangerine Dream).
Strap in and prepare to hit the launch button on this other-worldly adventure and "go offworld tonight."

What is brilliant about this song is how the lyrics can be relatable to most listeners.
As If It is describing our past few years. Interesting.
This seriously slays me every time. I'm not an overly emotional person, I'm a pretty reserved introvert, but this touches the deep core. It's about those details mixed all-together. It almost gets to the sensory level.
Yep. Klayton has a gift...
@@xiloeteknowledgiesllc1973 It's the gift of knowledge to use yours words, but you must use them right. To get people to like your Art he made for us all.
It's the Mercy in Hell line from I didnt get cause I think hell is a bad place. But now through some work I understand him now and it feelsgoodman lol

@@walterrising4276 Thank you, Captain Obvious, FactLord. We have a winner.
I really like the lucid guitars in the intro.
That guitars man, petrifies me every time, reminds me of the guitars in "Just Like You" combined with the pulsation. Blown off this world!
NikolayNikoloff if you don't mind me asking?
I made a music video to that song. would you mind checking it out?
The power of rhythmic guitars, man. The power of rhythmic guitars.
Zelisius I'd be honored to check it out and let you know my thoughts on it, shoot me a link?

it's another time when this song is so close to me. First, during my sister passed away of cancer, now - my brother is going through it. Celldweller always helps in such moments
I can't even comprehend how amazing this song is I'm literally blown away.
I will not cry on the bus. I will not cry on the bus. I will not cry on the bus.
This is a captivating tune, good sir.
Mark D You cried on the bus, didn't you? 😢
2019. Cant stop listening, so passionate ♥
2023 - still...
Absolutely amazing. I am f*king ready to go Offworld!
I MUST SEE THEM LIVE!!!! Been a fan for 15 years!
Klayton, you are the genious, I have never heard anything like this and this music forever in my soul!
Celldweller songs are criminally underrated and I really which they get popular someday
Klayton, I am blown away of how powerful and emotional your music is. I've been a fan for years and am so glad I stumbled upon your music by accident.
I'm not the best at wording things so this may sound weird, but it helps me. Helps me, but most of all inspires me. I listen to your music for motivation, inspiration for a drawing or a story.
I probably speak for most fans but please, never stop being awesome
Ditto!

I understand you 100%.
I'm a writer (living in Portugal right now) and one of my books "Um Eterno Minuto de Silêncio" (An Eternal Minute of Silence) was very much influenced [at the emotional level] by Klayton's music, to the point that i couldn't resist and "planted" an easter egg in it, mentioning "Celldweller" somewhere along the story. Not to brag, but that book was awarded with the "Alves Redol Prize", one of the most important recognitions of Literature in Portugal. Thank you, Klayton!
King Kradiel I agree
@@humbertojimmy Wow so is not only american fans? I mean i an from brazil and i wrote stories for like 3 years and damn i freakin love klayton musics i use some lyrics from some music as a reference
"All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain"
I must say, I'm genuinely impressed with the track.
I honestly don't think I've ever been this excited for a Celldweller album. Everything that's come out form it is absolutely amazing.
Patrick Reynolds what makes me most happy is that this work changed the style again. I was not the biggest fan of all dubstep-like thing, even tho i adored live upon a blackstar. This new more like scandroid sound is great.
Gorgeous.
Goosebumps all over my back, this is so goooooood!!!
Klayton's sound has matured so much on this album.. all of the tracks are incredible. Definitely some of the best music he's put out there.
Emotional guitars...strong lyrics...pure Celldweller... I just love it
I am beyond shocked that Celldweller covered The Call. The Call is one of my absolute favorite bands of all time and didn't think anyone remembered them. So good.
The verse "I've had 6 years of luck" did anyone else but me think back to the song 'The Lucky One' from Blackstar? And it kind of matches up, 6 years ago The Lucky One was released as a single :P
SkyGrinder2011 this is a cover of an 80s song so that definitely isn’t the case
yeah it's just kind of a fitting coincidence really but not really related lol so you right
@@cyanyde4950 Or maybe he released it in time on purpose
@@emelradjo7788 hard to believe he released this song for a far-fetched interpretation of a lyric pertaining to something that came after the original
@@necromelodia2432 I'm guessing you believe that all bands/artists make every single song on their next album/EP purely between the time of the last album and the new one then? A lot of bands make songs way in advance and then remake them for release when they fit better with what they're putting out, so no, it's really not that hard to believe.
Beautiful song and video. I used to feel like this, so I can relate. But the good news is you can wipe those tears away with Jesus, brother.
Absolutely Delightful!
the best cover i've ever heard
Cover from what?
Klayton, you beautiful bastard.... Bloody amazing. A great, more modern, homage to Michael Been.
Your new tracks are all something to adore. I've already prepared money for your new album, and ready to throw it at the screen on July 28th.
Support our friendly neighborhood Klayton, so he can keep bringing us these absolute fantastic creations of vocals and sound.
I cant say anything that'll compliment Celdweller more than to just tell you to look at all the comments. I have legit never seen more people agreeing on an artist, which if we're honest, is more than deserved. Keep up the amazing work!
P.s. Hope you have another colab with Bret soon.

We do need some Blue Stahli/Celldweller stuff again

Just for what it's worth, I'm buying this album day one, and I haven't bought a music album in years.
The two songs themselves are absolutely off this world. I'm really looking forward to "How Little I Must Know." The instagram post I seen a while back reminded me of what I've done in my past and that i must let go. Beautiful Klayton! My tears are falling like rain

Everything about this song is perfect I ♥ it!!
Never stop, I love your music. God speed.
always amazing!
This original version for the first time I've heard on spoty as Klayton added it into his playlist. I've loved it since. And some time later on fb wall he ask what kind of songs we would like him to remake. And now I'm hearing this! Awesome!

As you can see I have a hard time making up a nice compliment, but I really do like it a lot x3
Welcome to what is probably the greatest artist of our generation. Klayton has music to cover almost any taste, and to fit any mood.
Patrick Reynolds thanks ^^
Welcome to the sounds that will never get old, it will make you feel.

Wow. Just... Wow.
I have listened to this song for so many times and yet it always feels amazing. It touches something deep inside me, something that's both sadness and hope. This song is a true masterpiece.
This reaches out to so many. Thank you Klayton you will always be the voice I turn to listen to for hope. I feel you could understand me and always have a song that helps me through a struggle. Again on repeat, again I feel your music move through me. I broke into a fever and let my tears fall like rain.
Just fell in love with this song all over again.
Klayton keeps on reshaping!
There is so much in his music, you can listen again and again and something new will always grab you.
Klayton never disappoints. respect.
Klayton, I always thought the best/most beautiful songs you made were ones like "Just Like You" and "Against The Tide". I can tell that this album is a huge step, and I couldn't be more excited for its release! Keep it up🤘
Also, I'm so glad you covered a song by The Call. I love them as well as Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, a band led by Michael Been's son Robert. Good taste!
Its weekend and what a way to start it
Goosebumps
wow I haven't felt goosebumps like this in a long time. Incredible lyrics

i will be honest, the electronic/ instrumental songs i don't care for. but the songs like this remind my why I like celldweller
i was so excited to hear this yesterday. one of my favourites it's so atmospheric and melancholy and beautiful. the imagery is amazing when covered by klayton, and the lyrics have more meaning like the WUABS album and feel relevant. I LOVE OFFWORLD SO MUCH THUS FAR!!
This is a great cover of the original version by The Call.
amazing .... simply amazing.
this is absolutely incredible! mind-blowing it's absolutely outstanding love this track
The more I listen the more I listen
this album is getting better and better
I take personal offence to the number of views of this clip. Why and how is Klayton's work not more popular? It has everything..
DoubleDu maybe it's for the better. At least all of the fans are true
Popular music artists die earlier. Look at Avicii for example.
This is beautiful.
in Germany if we can't belive something we sometimes say "alter echt jetzt?" which wordly translated would be like "oldy for real now?" or "are you kidding me?". It mostly is considered a bit rude but as every saying it depends on the context... as the Theremin like sound startet it gave me goose bumps. It remindet me to an vynil record from my childhood days my parents used to hear regulary. Oxigene by Jean Michel Jarre. Or the german Star Trek TOS opening and Captain Future... this was an emotional impact i did not expected. A real "alter echt jetzt??!" moment in the best possible way. And then you started singing... this intensity! Just thanks for your great art. An unknown child of the 80's.
Wow... this was a gorgeous punch to the gut..
Klayton, you sure know how to hit a man right in the feels.
This is the best cover song I have ever heard. The emotion just wells out of it.
this is so fucking beautiful
Some of those parts in the video look allot like the Columbia River gorge on I-84 in Oregon.
Yeah I was thinking the same thing.
You have a very beautiful voice without using the vocoder, Klay... But... I'm in love totally with the song, as always ❤❤❤ thanks for the emotions that you give to me with your songs ❤
I got goosebumps
thank you Celldweller, for making my escape the trap that is life
New Scan and Cell songs in one go? My heart can't take this!
Thank You.
Haven't had a song move me like this in a while.
I'll be grabbing the album as soon as I can.
AMAZING !! 😍😍😍😍
Just...wow...
Solid song as always.
This song has too much awesomeness, words can't possibly describe it! Off this world ...
I've always thought that this world has too much sadness, and all of us can/should do all in our ability to lessen the burden. This song hits nice... Thank you for another masterpiece that helps me through my days.
The intro and the first part of the chorus make me think it's about passing, ending, and sadness. Then I hear that one line. Some tears of laughter some tears of pain. That breaks me. It wasn't unfortunate events, a horrible betrayal, just sorrow. It's about the journey we all take and how the journey itself takes a massive toll on us, and no matter what we do we cannot escape it, it's outside of us and we are inside of it. Always breaks me down.
His singing is making me emotional. oh man it's so amazing
Klayton is a killing machine
I sometimes have the feeling that Klayton is just not human. He's too good to be. Thank you for your art and keep up the good work!
Grand work!
I Love you Klayton
