- What is a CTCA?
CT coronary angiography (CTCA) is a non invasive test to look at your coronary arteries.
It is predominantly used to check for narrowed or blocked arteries in your heart, but it can also be used to check your heart for various conditions. It can be used to look at structures around the heart and plan more complex structural heart interventions.
Dr Iqbal Malik, Medical Director of OneWelbeck Heart Health undergoes a cardiac CT scan and explains what to expect from one at OneWelbeck.

Thank you for explaining this procedure, it was very interesting and clear. Now I am more relaxed knowing what I'm going to have.
Great video. Thanks for being the patient and explaining the process.
Thank you for sharing this, in few days I will undergo with this after 3x ecg bike/stress test and 2Decho
The fact that a physician will allow his staff to do the procedure on him and then take the time to go over the results was absolutely incredible.
This gave me some reassurance. Thank you
Looks incredible !!
A comprehensive introduction. Thanks for making the procedure seem so straightforward. As for your personal demonstration that is very unusual and meant a lot to me. I am having a scan next week so I am mentally prepared. Could I take a Valium tablet to relax if I do get anxious or is that what the Beta thing does?
No Nitro for the scan?
I just had a CT Angiography Chest w Contrast that was ordered by one doctor and a CTA Coronary ordered by another doctor who is unaware. I think these tests are different, but not sure. Do you need both?
Kindly make a video about EECP
Thank you , I am now cancelling this procedure. Ridiculous waste of insurance money, as I do not have any medical rationale for this procedure that's convincing enough to have exposure to the contrast or the scan.
@@jugheadjones5458 he has no balls to do the ct angiography
I did just now and the video is not like mine they gave additional nitroglycerin plus the dye,And after the procedure I had a bit shortness of breath
You were ok to have your glasses on during the procedure?
I did ecg in which their is t wave inversion then doctor said me to do heart echo which was normal and also doctor says to do an ETT TEST IN which my bpm is 179 and during exercise one of my artries shows dead in mid then normal...then doctor suggested me a CT coronary angiography...i am afraid what should I do plz guide me
Like the Tardis? I’ve never been!
I find it Amazing that he couldn't mention the radiographer and nursing but he remembered radiologist....hmmmm
They didn’t put the warm contrast in me? Is that how it is now?
How much time spent inside CT Machine ? like 1 hour or 30 minutes not total procedure, I am talking about inside CT Machine. thanks Shan
3 mins i had that done today
I believe 5-10 mins. Pretty quick. I’m getting tomorrow but had previously CT Scans of spine. Easy in my view
Yes 3-5 minutes
I find it kind of weird that they didn’t give me a shot or warming solution, is this normal?
How old is this doctor?
Nice..tattooed and long hair radiographer are not discriminated
Sir maine aaj ctca karwai report normal aayi ।।। ye report kab tak valid rhti hai
Sir did u take beta injection?
So you're asked to sign a form asking whether or not you're allergic to the contrast dye and if you need a beta blocker? How the hell would an average person know this? Is this then a waiver of responsibility for them if there is a complication?
Beta blockers are used to keep the heart rate below 70 bpm.. Most people can tolerate it... As for the allergy to the contrast, you won't know you are allergic to it unless it's inside you😂.. They should carry out a test a day or two before the scan to check if you are allergic to the contrast
Who’s the girl front desk 👀
Your mom
lol!!! @blackmamba
Funny,...doctor has mask below nose. What impression he is giving ?
As soon as he mentioned statins, I turned off.....
Unless you go on a rigid diet and assuming no familial high cholesterol you won’t stop the plaques in your coronary arteries growing, but a statin can help, maybe have a rethink.
@katrinafarmer207 Statins are terrible, especially long term.
I'm scared as hell getting this done. Scheduled for April 9th.
Me too I'm realy scare about the injection about this ctca
@@JG-hh5rp I haven't had that procedure yet, but am planning to do it. I have, however, had several CT scans with contrast for a different reason and they were pretty simple and nothing to be scared about. You do get a warm sensation from the contrast but it's not uncomfortable or anything and only lasts a short while, maybe a minute. CT scans are pretty fast typically, much shorter than an MRI, although an MRI does not have ionizing radiation. Just ask any questions and bring up any worries as you go, the people I talked to were more than happy to answer questions.
