Green laser pointed at DJI Phantom 3 Professional

- Someone pointed a green laser today at my Phantom 3 Professional in Poulsbo, WA. Here is the full video, starting from when I noticed the laser. I flew down to film the guy responsible.

Flying drones at night is without a hard to obtain permit.
James Wilson the flying at night waiver is not that hard to obtain. Getting another drone because some jackass is shining a laser into the camera can be costly. I’m sure if someone were messing with something on the guys boat he wouldn’t even so happy. Also this video was in 2016 drone laws were not as defined then.
@@davesnothere. I’m not sure I understand the relevance of your question? In this video a person was shining a laser at the drone, the laser could have damaged the camera sensors. The person operating the laser deliberately pointed it at the drone. If the laser caused any damage then the person with the laser would be liable for damages. Asshole for one if ur not allowed to point a lazer at and airplane why point it at a drone shitface us drone pilots get the same effect airline pilots get when a idiot on the ground. Like in this video wants to point a lazer in the sky. Now if my drone crashes to the ground or enters airspace with a plane and crashes because of some stupid asshole blinded me with a fuckin lazer while im flying with my fpv VR goggles on is pretty fucked up and can really hurt alot of people go look it up fbi cracking down on people who point lazers in the sky period 👉DONT EVER DO THIS 👈

Its not a manned aircraft. It would be criminal mischief IF there is any actual pecuniary loss. The drone is fine. If it fell out of the sky due to the laser pointer then you have a case. Just like brake checking someone is totally legal. You are an asshole yes but the police arent going to do shit.

Well.. now they have tactile lasers capable of taking non military drones down. Should be illegal but they’re 780-900mm wavelength which means it is infrared and can burn the plastic and lens optics. Watch out.
