Troy sings a bit more in the new album where he his the lead vocalist in "Harvest" and heavily featured in "Shoemaker" he also sings in "My Walden" from this concert. I would advise looking up Eugene Shoemaker before listening to "Shoemaker" though.
This has recently become my favorite Nightwish performance. Not only do I love the lyrics and music, but Floor's delivery is so layered. This is some of her best acting/storytelling. And Marko blends perfectly with her as always.
It wasn't Marko that you can hear but Troy on the Irish Bouzouki :) The camera left him out a lot. Your so right about Marco's voice and charisma though, so good ....
Yeah it's both of them. Marko's guitar tone is actually at the forefront of the mix while the bouzouki is in the background. The two together actually make the whole sound and it's obviously fantastic!
Not sure anyone has mentioned this but Marko had a botched vocal surgery in the 90s , like 96 or so, that messed up one side of his vocal cords. I think it's pretty impressive that he can still sing as well as he does, especially being in his 50s now. Nightwish adding him to band was a game changer for them for sure.
I read about this once but never found any reliable source to back up, since it was in a video where the subs were all made up as a joke about the growing of his beard. Wandered ever since if this was true. What is impressive is that I consider his vocals better now then on Tarot

Few times you see Thoumas headbanging that hard. He was feeling it. This is from Endless Forms Most Beautiful, the first studio album with Floor. A song in which Troy sings, Harvest from the new album is the one.
Nightwish - How's the heart (acoustic version) In this one, Troy and Floor are the only band members for this and Troy is playing the guitar as well as doing the backing vocals
For Troy on lead it's 'Harvest' from the new album, live he took Tuomas's part for 'The Carpenter' on the Decades tour. Tuomas on lead was only on the debut album Angels Fall First, as little as he could get away with. Emppu played both bass and guitar for that album.
The song is from the album Endless Forms Most Beautiful from 2015. Marko has a great resumé as a vocalist. Check out his bands Tarot and Northern Kings and his latest solo album recently released. He also is a frequent guest singer with Delain. Check out their song The Gathering, for example.
Glad you are enjoying Nightwish. One thing I wonder in their live shows who is having more fun? The crowd or the band? Also please check out 'Greatest Show On Earth' from the same concert, that is a bloody epic level song.
So if you liked this one - have you ever reacted to: Yours Is An Empty Hope (live at wembley - please do the wembley version...) Shudder Before The Beautiful (live at wembley)
"Weak Fantasy" is off of Endless Forms Most Beautiful, the first Album that Floor sang on so she is the only one to have performed it although I don't think is was written specifically with her in mind, as the songs on Human : Nature were. A couple of highlights of this performance you might have missed. Watch Floors face around the 3 minute mark When she sings the "a starving crew with show off toys" line she does this wide eye roll thing that kills me every time. She has done something similar in other performances but the super heavy makeup she is wearing here makes it more noticeable. Also Troy is playing an electric bouzouki for this one and Emppu & Marco really seem to enjoy having another "guitarist" to play with as they both keep wondering over to play next to him.
One of my absolute favourites! But I personally prefer Wembley version. I've heard that one even before the album version and it just has so much more energy, amazing!
This one was from the last record and the 1st for Floor. Tuomas has only sang one song. It was their first single way back in 1997. It was called "The Carpenter". Tuomas hates hearing his voice on this song. They did it live at Buenos Aries 2018, and Troy took Tuomas' part. It is a very old style song, back before Tuomas had figured out what the Nightwish sound should be.
Tuomas is the keyboard player, who does not sing. Troy plays a number of different instruments, and sings in a few recent songs. He leads the vocals for "Harvest" and he provides some excellent harmonies in "How's the Heart" live acoustic.
There were 2 albums recorded with Floor, "Endless forms Most Beautiful" which has their crown jewel "The greatest show on earth" and some other great songs like "Yours is an empty hope". Of course the brand new album "Human Nature" doesn't have any live performances but the video for "Noise" is pretty epic. The back half of the album will give you a great view of Tuomas' orchestral composition. As far as exploring the other singers, I know you've reacted to some bombs with Annette but if you want to appreciate her, you'll have to check out their studio work during that time. She definitely lacks the discipline to pull off a solid live performance but she really shines on the albums. "Imaginarium" is one of my favorites. Marko kicks ass on it and the music is some of the best Tuomas has written in my opinion.
There is an accoustic version of How's the heart with Floor and Troy. Not exactly live but still basically a live studio session. Worth checking out if you haven't yet
I really think that you will like the guitar/piano duel in Nightwish's 'Shudder Before the Beautiful' live at Wembly Arena. It gives that (already amazing) song so much character.
🤘💜🤘 Sweet reaction, brother. I just finished watching a great 2013 interview, with Floor, in which she said Nightwish restored her confidence in so many ways.
Tuomas doesn't sing anymore. He only did on the very first album, Angels Fall First, from 1997, because they hadn't secured a male vocalist at that point. TBH, it's not great -- sounds like rehearsal placeholder, which is essentially what it was. Troy sings a lot more now, and has a very different texture and range than Marco. NW has become really versatile now that they've got all three.
Tuomas himself has said that he thought Angels Fall First was a demo. Then the label went and released it. That album doesn't have the level of refinement that the rest have, and being that Tuomas thought of it as a demo and not a complete project is why.
started watching your videos because i'm a big nightwish fan. however, with you being a guitar teacher, i'm surprised that no one has made you listen to 'protest the hero' yet. as more of a symphonic metal fan (in cue with nightwish's stuff) it wasn't really my cup of tea at the start, but god damn when it comes to the guitar play they are top of the fucking rock. If you want to see some more from Troy, I want my tears back or 7 days to the wolves. Both amazing. He's also prominently displayed in The Greatest Show on Earth.
If you wish a live version, Troy sings the most in "The Carpenter", their first single ever that they completely "remastered" twenty years later to be played live. Originally, Tuomas provided the male vocals and well... it wasn't the best thing ever, lol. Troy also sings a tiny bit in the beginning of "My Walden" and during the chorus with both Floor and Marko. On the newest album however he has an entire song for him to shine, but that's not been played live yet since all shows so far were postponed. It's called "Harvest". In that kind of celtic vibe though I highly recommend "I Want My Tears Back", it's the most fun song to dance to. :D So, in order of Troy's importance in a song : - Harvest - The Carpenter - My Walden - I Want My Tears Back (only harmonies + pipes, but it's a great metal party song)

Brilliant song, but I feel you purposely shied away from the point of the lyrics for fear of starting a comment keyboard war and upsetting some sensibilities, but that's your choice. Now it's true, that many Atheists and Antireligious people seem to get angry with me that I hold to my Christian faith, assuming that I have a huge denial or disdain for scientific study and findings. It is quite simple what I believe... I believe that we aren't here by accident. That it was on purpose. I also happen to believe that it's okay for people to disagree with each other. I am a huge fan of Nightwish, always will be, and it is not as difficult to "reconcile" as you may think. Tuomas is a musical genius, and should certainly be recognized as such. Floor and Kai are technical masters of their trade. Marco and Troy are some of the most skilled performers I've ever seen. Emppu is one of the most naturally talented and entertaining musicians I've ever seen. All that combined leads to one AMAZING band. Yes, I am a Christian. Yeah, if you want to hear Tuomas singing you must know he's not a singer and is pretty bad. He only sang few parts in the first album Angels Fall First which the band themselves consider a demo album but it was released as full album by the record company. But you probably meant Troy, he's only lead song is from the 2020 album song called Harvest. There's other songs where he's featured like My Walden from the 2015 album. Also there's one song live from Buenos Aires called The Carpenter which is originally the old song from the first album where Tuomas is singing. Tuomas and Troy also has another band called Auri with Tuomas' wife being the third member. Desert Flower for example is a great song.

Anyways .. we are all sad that Marko is doing other stuff cause of his Issues. He was the Best for Nightwish. I regret that i didn't visit a Concert when he was with them but hey let's see what is coming next. Sure his Voice is and was the Best ! Simply the Best. Tuomas might sing a part in the Islander or that Kuolema tekee taiteilijan . Correct me if i am wrong but he is not into singing but composing. Want to hear his Voice in a Song too. Well there is a Song "Harvest" (Human :I: Nature Album) sung by Troy. Very Country, Irish and also Metal. (A little bit like in "I want my Tears back")
Tuomas sings "The Carpenter", "Beauty and the Beast" and in the background on "Master Passion Greed" but only studio performances. There is a terrible live video of him singing "Beauty and the Beast" with Tarja holding the mic for him that he says was the one and only time he has or will ever sing it live. Troy now sings "The Carpenter" for him
This showing up really late in my feed... Biggest props on this one for giving major credit to Tuomas for the keyboardist/windmilling talent! First time I saw that, I thought "why isn't anyone blown away by him pounding on the keys blindly while doing serious windmilling?!" lol / The dismissive bit about the lyrics was a bit, off-putting since the lyrics are what tell the story.
This is their "religion bad" song :). (on one of the Nightwish forums, someone did a hilarious breakdown of this album, and that's how he described the song...stuck with me ever since. I'm guessing Tribal is the same thing on the new album). Oh, you've been doing enough of these now---so it's TOOohmas, not toMAS. He's not Hispanic :). \m/ If you haven''t already, do Yours is an Empty Hope. Same angry vibe, though not about religion.
You definitely should listen The Poet and the pendulum from Wembley Arena Concert, I was on that show and it was breathtaking and to brag a little bit I was lucky enough to catch pick from Emppu🤘, or from new ones Noise or Harvest accually I changed my mind, watch them all 🤘🤘
Just you wait until you get into Human |::| Nature. They do some mind-blowing stuff with vocals. Stuff they've never done before, it absolutely breaks my whole brain every time I listen. But yeah, unfortunately Tuomas doesn't sing beyond their earliest work, and to be frank, it doesn't do the body of work justice. It's the modern renditions of his earliest works that are super polished and built to Tuomas' exacting specifications.
Sergey saying 'I feel like fighting someone!', me thinking 'Well if you follow the lyrics, you should go to fight organized religion then.' 😉
Right, start that war to end all wars, then blame it on religion and forsake it with scorn. That's how all the elegant people do it.

No, I don't have to stop loving Nightwish to be a Christian. No, I don't have to stop being a Christian to love Nightwish. Actually, there's a pretty strong argument in my "favorite book" that compels me to love every one. I am not a hateful person, or at least I try pretty hard most days not to be. Some days I get it wrong. Some days I do better...
After all, I'm only human.
@@RAAZR- raazr personaly as an agnostic who likes to think he believes in live and let live... or "do unto others" etc... while i find such a need irrational i dont mind because also i was the only agnostic in my family , my parents and brother were christians even though not fully stuck up zealoty devout. But to be honest i dont mind other people having such a need to assign blame or praise to some fictitius entity for whatever happens to their life that their ancestors couldnt explain with science, however here is the thing with religion: if it kept being a philosophical way of seeing things and just on a personal lvl point of view for every one who clings to it there would be no issue with me or other agnostics as long this didnt affect my life but the fact churches over the ages craved a foothold in earthly powers too so political agendas and becoming a player in the power games.... means the fact people believe in them fictions changes votes, affects how fast science progressed ( inquisition etc..... need i mention gallileo?) and has caused over the ages several religiously based conflicts (crusades) and still oes today (jihads) because well the third sequel (islam) after the second ( christianity) of the most hatebreeding religion (judaism) is still in its infancy and not yet past puberty and still holds a huge sway in countries where it consists dominant religion to the term theocracy not being far off. An yeahh what i sai about judaism is from my point of view being Greek and knowing that my ancestors as well Egyptians Phoenicians etc had no issue with what gos the neighbouring cultures worshiped and seen it as their cultural traditions and point of view but then along cames Judaism where one of the 10 commandments tells them their god is the ONLY true one and all other ones arent so basicaly this breeds terms like " infidel" "unbeliever" "heretic" etc.... that both sequels inherited sadly, but luckily christianity at least grew past them so when today pope goes out and tells people not to use condoms .... most ignore him but sadly same doesnt happen with islam high clergy. So yeahh i cant act like religion doesnt affect my or other agnostic people's lifes cause u can anytime be killed in a bombing just cause some screw loose fanatic wants to hasten his promised travel to his version of heaven ( virgins included or not)
Yeah, if you want to hear Tuomas singing you must know he's not a singer and is pretty bad.
This for me was the best album Nightwish ever released...
Floor is not head-banging but windmilling, here in the Netherlands are lots of windmills. Floor is Dutch so she’s windmilling.😂
Pls do How's The Heart live acoustic :)
"lyrics are whatever"......hum........k.
But I'm simple man, songs that are about bashing religion I get overjoyed.
So......whatever.

Now how about another opinion on this topic? ruclips.net/p/PL22J3VaeABQD_IZs7y60I3lUrrFTzkpat
@@zvolencan1 How about not. I don't need opinions on superstitious BS.
Here Here Hugo! I agree fully!
@@eddiewinehosen6665 Have you seen ONE SECOND of one of those videos, or you see word "BIBLE", and you have red eyes instantly? This is psychological, scientific explanation, that avoids superstitious BS.
The greatest show on earth is the greatest song tumoas has ever made in my opinion this entire album is so good i would suggest it as well as tribal from there album that came out not long ago
This song kicks ass 🤘🤘
Not one I've heard before. It's really different. I'd honestly have to listen to it more before I can decide if I like it or not.
Its very hard to choose favorite nightwish song.
Anyways .. we are all sad that Marko is doing other stuff cause of his Issues. (A little bit like in "I want my Tears back")
Shame you didn’t choose the Vancouver BC Canada recording - I was there! 🤪
Troy now sings "The Carpenter" for him
My favorite song from Endless forms most beautiful.
Man talking is Richard Dawkins !!
Do Marco's solo stuff!
Tuomas only sang in Beauty and the Beast IIRC. Troy has only been "featured" in Harvest.
You definitely should listen The Poet and the pendulum from Wembley Arena Concert, I was on that show and it was breathtaking and to brag a little bit I was lucky enough to catch pick from Emppu🤘, or from new ones Noise or Harvest accually I changed my mind, watch them all 🤘🤘
Like your reactions, why didn't you react to "The poet and the pendulum" yet ?? please do !
Where is the other one? This one is already 13 hours old!!!!! :)
Is that chris off Alestorm? You look so much like him without a beard lol.
More awesome drumming of Kai you can see in Wintersun - Sons of Winter and Stars live rehearsal at Sonic Pump studio... Please and peace 🙏🏼😎✌🏼
The intro to this sounds like Turkista! Turkista! from that Finnish kids show.
👍👍😎😎🤘🤘
🤘🤘❤️🤘🤘
love to see Floor ratchet things up
Yours is an empty hope at Tampere.
Troy, My Walden @Wembley
