This movie's so epic because it made larger-than-life like characters seem helpless to an alien force like an ant to a boot, giving such scale to the predator
There is another RUclips that gave a great film analogy and breakdown of this scene, how we see all of Dillon's movements are in slow motion compared to the Predator's who is in real time, and how we go from seeing Dillon, crouched and hidden in and against the shrubs when he finds Mac's body, to turning around after hearing the Predator and suddenly being out in the open and fully exposed.
I have seen this movie nearly a hundred times, absolutely love it. This is perhaps one of my favorite scenes. Carl Weathers' scream and the look of utter pain on his face when hoisted into the air looks so realistic. The film makers did a superb job in the tension creation.
My favorite reaction to this scene was from Parbrahm Singh of The Loud Guys channel who, frustrated with how long it seemed to take Dillon to react and start shooting at the Predator, exclaimed "Why are you waiting? What are you doing? Are you making eye contact? Are you falling in love?"
John mcteirnan directed this film, then die hard, then hunt for red October...greatest three back to back to back high octane action films ever and no matter what else happened in his career cemented John as one of the greatest of all time
Very cool scene from one of my favorite movies. So great to see everyone's reactions together. The most frightening part for me is seeing the Predator on the ground moving at such incredible speed in an arc at Dillon! That always gives me chills.
I’ve been watching this movie since the 90s. One of my favorites. I play it in the background as I’m working sometimes. lol It’s odd to me that I’ve hit the age where I’m looking at these younger folks and asking, “How have you not seen this movie?!”
It always surprised me that Mac didn't take aim and fire his M60. Yes, it is not for long distance precision, but he looked close enough to get it with good enough accuracy. Plus the M60 was the only weapon that could hurt the Predator camouflaged.
It wouldn't have mattered, the Predator was already staring right at them. The fact that he sees heat signatures means you can't hide behind plants and the like. They never had a chance, he was just toying with them until Dutch stumbled upon the mud.
They did a real good job on the practical effects with Dillon losing his arm.

The look of fear on Carl Weathers face after the Predator says “Any time………”

The memories!
No better decade for movies than the 80's.
Great use of practical effects like most of the movies during the 80s period, CGI is way overused
My favorite part in this entire classic is when the predator is shown sprinting toward Dillon in his camoflage.
That shit was the illest
He was fast asf 🥶🥶🥶

"That's unfair! He's invisible!"
Not really, they're all in camouflage.
Every kind of camo has advantages and disadvantages.
The Predator also isn’t really wearing any armor. A couple of well placed shots to his chest and it’s lights out for him.

For predotor its about finding the the strongest opponent to face him one on one
The woman in The Media Knights >>>
I'm fairly certain that Mrs. Movies had my exact same reaction to Dillon's death when I was 10 lol. Perfect.
They don’t leave because their soldiers. They fight. Thats what we do. They.
There's not many but this to me is a perfect action movie!
John Mctiernan is my favorite director.
Watching this movie again makes you realize just how terrible modern movies are. They cant do suspense and subtle sound effects like this anymore.
🙏carl weathers and sonny landham🙏
В 87 году умели делать фильмы!
"Too invested!"
I want a Predator movie with no humans in it.
It's a good idea. In reality, humans would be wimps against predators or xenomorphs.
"Just ditch the guns"... watch Predator how it should have ended :)
That b that said it was so cheesy 👎
Natalie is high key very annoying, and a bit of a know-it-all.
Sorry to mention it, but you misspelled Dawn Marie’s name.
I still thought this death was metal….

Please do the Billy discovers Jim Hopper
Look at all these fake reaction channels all on one post. Bunch of idiots looking for attention. Get a life.
