  • DIY Custom Springer Front End Honda Rebel 250 Bobber Part 14
    The Rebel is getting a front end upgrade, complete custom front end springer, after mulling over CAD designs for the last few months Ive come up with a design which should be fairly easy to knock up in the shed. This episode I start the fabrication of the first pieces that are going to make up this build.
    Plans to build your own Springer tinyurl.com/2s...
    Thank you to the guys at The Chopper Builders Handbook, your resources have made this possible.

    Brilliant engineering, good to see a real shed built custom that takes brains and not loads of cash to make it work!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

      More 250 content to come, Im in the process of editing next part of the spring build. Ive had bit of an accident on the lathe so thats slowing things down a bit.

    I loved your work 😍 and it inspired me to make one for my Honda Magna 82. Could you tell me the thickness of the tubes for the forks? My motorcycle weighs 220kilos dry, so I don't want to take any chances with metals.
    Greetings from Chile! 😁

      Thank you, all the best with your Honda Magna. The tube thickness I used for fixed and active forks was 3.25mm. I will have some plans available soon so please keep an eye out.

    Hi I like your bike build videos I was wondering on your Springer build & heavy gauge of metal used for such small bike, will it be any heavier than standard front end..(Triple clamps)

    • @dtaylo4517
      @dtaylo4517  3 года назад

      Yes that was a concern of mine, but I was also concerned that thinner gauge material wouldn't be robust enough. Id rather over engineer just to be on the safe side, thats my opinion of it. The springer is certainly going to be a learning experience for me, I trust that i've done enough research for it to work out as planned.

    where can I get CAD designs to build my own springer or leaf front end??

    • @dtaylo4517
      @dtaylo4517  2 года назад

      I'm actually looking to put the plans together to purchase, it will be a small amount but this will then be invested back into the channel, watch this space!
