Hi to the cutest couple on RUclips! Wonderful Chinatown review, some hits, some misses. Thanks to you two we will only have the best. You both filmed wonderfully and looked amazing! Can't wait to see more ❤🍱🥡
Hi guys. We just happened on to your RUclips videos and think you are fantastic. We’ve binged watched 5 of your Hawaii food shows and can’t stop. Please keep it up.
Happy Monday and London Series Foodie Ohana!!! I’m glad you showed a side of London many do not show or share. It’s cool to see Asian dishes on the other side of the Atlantic. Love you guys! 🤙🏽🏴🌴
Hi guy's i couldn't agree with you you about the duck and pancakes, I'm 62 now and i like the pancakes but i don't order them or get them at a buffet where other people go crazy for and yes your right it's always dry and a bit tasteless, i was a butcher for 42 years and retired now and i Absolutely love duck but it needs to be cooked properly and felex i was drooling watching you eat the duck on the platter, anyway Amanda and Felix travel safe and god bless to you both x 🙏🙏
Dim sum is one of my favorite foods, so watched this with interest. Never heard of aromatic crispy duck before....looks like it could be good as long as you knew what to expect. But that duck/roast pork/char siu platter looked amazing! And I would totally get a boba with grapes. 😋 Thanks for sharing another great video in your London series! 🥰
You need to wrap more spring onion and cucumber strips with your crispy aromatic duck to contrast with the dryness of the duck … it’s one of the most delicious and highly prized (not mentioned priced) dishes in Chinatown
Hope you get to see more of the UK. Liverpool and Manchester are super popular big cities with tons of diversity for a wide range of food aswell as local specialities and great places for entertainment. Liverpool specifically has the oldest Chinatown in all of Europe. Liverpool is actually a "Twin City" with Shanghai and has a big ceremonial Chinese arch that came from China. They have a long history together from round the 1800s
The London Chinatown didn't really "exist" until the late 60s. Liverpool was the 1st port of call for the Chinese coming into Britain back in the early days and many migrated to Manchester subsequently. It wasn't until the 60s that Chinatown in London came into prominence when more Chinese people either moved into London or came down from the North.
wow it's been many years since i ate in london chinatown and it has just exploded with choices! i used to work late nights nearby and grab yummy dinners there after as it was the only places still open lol. so glad y'all enjoyed! oooh i see we're heading to edinburgh next! i'd recognize that view from calton hill anyday! i cannae wait! 😊 cheery bye, amanda & felix!
I have only seen Crispy Aromatic Duck once in North America, that restaurant also had Szechuan Duck - which was spread with a Szechuan Peppercorn mixture and then steamed and deep fried; it was terrific. However I have seen Tea-Smoked Duck in many restaurants in N.A.
The spicy soup dumplings looked so ono! So odd to think of dim sum without shoyu mustard. Want to try! Mahalos for such an interesting episode. Going to have to watch again!
Surprisingly London had tons of Asian dishes and restaurants! it definitely was interesting to see how Asian food is here across the world! Mahalo Patricia 🤙🏻
Aloha guys! Amanda, your hair & make up we're flawless! Gorgeous! Over 20 years ago I went to England and for 6 days, no rice or local style food of any kind. Then a day trip to London I saw the dragon gate of Chinatown! I went nuts! Even paid extra because white rice wasn't included. Excellent video, mahalo!
Crispy aromatic duck is deep fried. It's likely offered as a cheaper alternative to Peking duck and because, as you did, you can have half a duck which you usually can't with a Peking duck.
Hi Amanda...thank you for your honesty about the flavor of the aromatic duck .. we count on you to let us know if it is something we would want to try....
So mouth watering, way to go you guyz, thats how it's done!!...We recently traveled to Portugal, Spain and the Azores for a month...the food was epic..
You’re not supposed to break the pao bun. You have to sucked into it to sucks out all the egg liquids first than slowly enjoy the bun! Love watching you guys! London is my home.
This video just popped up,and I enjoyed it very much,I wanted to see Chinese food in the UK that wasn’t sweet, and sour chicken,or salt, and pepper chicken,or prawn crackers.I knew that you must be able to get some different Chinese dishes.Don’t get me started on Chinese chicken curry with chips😂😂
That Crispy Aromatic Duck that the waiter is shredding, at the table, is like North Carolina Pulled Pork; same flavors and aromatics as regular BBQ Pork(bone-in.) Just a different presentation style. Come’on guy’s, you guy’s sound like you’re from the some countryside folks…..thanks for these Ono videos, your time, labors, and all, to post it for us to see….Mahalo’s
Wow! London's Chinatown has such a variety of foods. Always good to try to see the difference from what we are used to on Oahu.. Even going to Vancouver or San Francisco, you can taste the differences, but gotta admit, the food in London looks like it tastes way different from what you get on Oahu or Los Angeles. Now, if I could just find a pork hash that tastes like the one from Char Hung Sut! 😂. BTW, my sister said the chicken feet in Hawaii have "luau feet" compared to the skinnier offerings in London. 🐓
Those custard buns are actually explosive. They get everyone on a first bite, so you guys were smart to slowly break it apart by your hands. My first bite burst all over my face, beard, and clothes 😅
liuxiabao is different from naihuangbao (which might be the one you are mentioning back home which is a custard bun 奶黄 naihuang). the 'liu' 流沙包 the 流 character is for liquid to flow. like tears falling or drooling.
I guess my Local taste bud bias shows, but everything in Chinatown looks so much more ʻono to me than the typical British fare. Itʻs different from Hawaiʻi but thatʻs a good thing. You two looked like you were enjoying the familiar differences, too.
Clotted cream on kaya toast... That sounds so good. Normal kaya toast has a slab of butter, but clotted cream is next level! 😋 where's the soft boiled egg? Amanda, that's not how to eat XLB.😁
Aloha Everybody 💯🤙😎 I been to alot of Chinese restaurants around the state of Hawaii and on the mainland. In my honest opinion, Nothing will beat Chinese restaurants on the island of Oahu. The roast duck and cake noodle menu items are key for my Chinese restaurant cravings. Just my honest opinion 💯 🤙 😎 Oh yeah, chicken feet at jade dynasty is winnahz
The aromatic crispy duck with pancakes/ wraps is available in almost every Chinese restaurant or takeaway in the UL. I’d be surprised to find one which doesn’t serve it TBH. Love your channel, keep up the good work! 👍
The peking duck was definitely on the drier side. It should not be that cooked through. Definitely something you should have eaten first as it dries out very quickly also.
Hi to the cutest couple on RUclips! Wonderful Chinatown review, some hits, some misses. Thanks to you two we will only have the best. You both filmed wonderfully and looked amazing! Can't wait to see more ❤🍱🥡
Mahalo Diana! You are the absolute nicest 🫶🏼💕
The chicken feet are smaller because the meat in Europe is not pumped with hormones like in America .
Hi guys. We just happened on to your RUclips videos and think you are fantastic. We’ve binged watched 5 of your Hawaii food shows and can’t stop. Please keep it up.
Crispy Aromatic Duck is amazing! It’s meant to be crispy and dry. It’s so tasty and nothing like a summer roll
Four seasons roast duck is chef kiss. Would definitely recommend. 👌

Much mahalo Armando 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻 it definitely was interesting to see how Asian food is here across the world!
The bun dough looked really plush and yummy! I actually jumped when Amanda pierced through and the egg yolk exploded out! Haha! 😂

Love the Vlog Foodie Ohana ! Mahalo for sharing the differences & similarities on the delicious eats !!! Beautiful London Chinatown !
Mahalo Gail for watching this one🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
Aromatic crispy duck is my number 1 favourite I love it soooooooooooooooooo much ❤❤❤❤

Mahalo Raeann🤙🏻 you’ve got a keen eye🏴
As a kid many restaurants in Chinatown used to have ‘closed’n signs up to keep out the tourists
I'm a new Yorker. I found the duck in London to be on the dry side. Not something I would order again. But the crispy pork was pretty good.
Aloha Amanda and Felix! So much yummieness 😋

It was different but yummy! We’re happy we got to see how Asian food tastes across the world!
I still miss shoyu-mustard but make my own with shoyu-chili oil. (forget the sweet sauce)
Hi Amanda and Felix. The Chinese food looks yummy and yet very different. Who knew there would be a Chinatown in London. Enjoy and blessings. 💖🙏💖💖💖🌺🌺
Surprisingly London had tons of Asian dishes and restaurants! it definitely was interesting to see how Asian food is here across the world! Mahalo Patricia 🤙🏻
You probably shouldn’t admit surprise to there being a Chinatown in London, maybe try learning a tiny bit of history.

So true!! Luau feet!!😂😂 it’s been really interesting to see their take on Asian food! Mahalo for watching this one Carol 🤙🏻
@@AmandaFelixEats I know exactly what you mean. 😜🤣
I was reminiscing on SF Chinatown & the food 😭 now I have to make it out to London Chinatown too 😹
Definitely check them out! 🤙
We always got to Dumpling Legend. Very consistent and tasty.
Wow! That egg was massive!
🤤🤤
If u come back to lomdon , try dim sum duck for dim sum. It's the best, you do have to queue to get in.
Those custard buns are actually explosive. They get everyone on a first bite, so you guys were smart to slowly break it apart by your hands. My first bite burst all over my face, beard, and clothes 😅
Good thing we don’t take a bite😂
The proper way to eating soup dumplings is the way ur wife did it she knows what’s up ❤
In the spoon 😊
Spoonbowl 😉
🙏🤙
Will be visiting Honolulu to see family and friends in October then will be in London in January. Great tips.
Mahalo! 🤙
liuxiabao is different from naihuangbao (which might be the one you are mentioning back home which is a custard bun 奶黄 naihuang). the 'liu' 流沙包 the 流 character is for liquid to flow. like tears falling or drooling.
I'm craving some Dim Sum!! Thanks A&F!!! And how are you guys staying so thin?!!! You guys look great!
Mahalo for the kind words🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻 lots of walking in London 🇬🇧
😁 lotsa video to edit......
This is getting more interesting by each episode of Lahnden

Glad you’re finding it interesting🙌🏼 much mahalo🤙🏻

I think bean curd roll with prawns (steamed) shld be in the same league with siew mai

Gotta love the local Chinese food here in Hawaii 🤤🤤🤤
I take it you haven’t been to SGV in LA
Guam has the best Chinese restaurants ❤
@@cr8zie I'll have to stop by when watching a Rams game💯🤙😎
@@michelleerickson9536 Aloha Guam💯🤙😎
It’s always interesting to see how foods are different in different parts of the world. So cool you got to try Chinatown in London! >^.^
Very interesting indeed! 🤙
Aloha and the food looks delicious. Mahalo
Mahalo for watching Jocelyn 🤙🏻
aromatic duck is slow braised in a soup with a lot of different spices hence the aromatic then it deepfried, peking duck is roasted in an oven
Good to know! Mahalo! 🤙
That yolk bun , I can imagine has made a mess of A LOT of peoples shirts 😅 thankfully you didn't just bite into it!
We were thinking that too! 😅
They are serving a moo shu wrapper for the duck, which some places on the mainland do.
Awesome!
Summer roll?? 🧐🧐😋 broiled then deep fried duck, not Peking…can be dry if not prepared well. Love peking duck 🤤
I live in So Cal and the Dim Sum looks normal size. Hawaii must have extra large size pieces.
25:21 Amanda eating duck jerky
😂
The London China town must go down as a China town in history
Who is newcastle fans ?
For the duck pancakes, the sauce goes on at the end and far more than she put on.
Mahalo for the info! 🤙🏻
@@AmandaFelixEats I was only half right. You can also spread a dollop of sauce on the pancake, place the duck on the sauce then add the veggies.
I see food in London ain’t cheap
You have to know where to go
Duck pancakes… supposed to be dry and tasteless. We’re weird in England 😂
🇹🇷💪💪☝️
The longer you let soup dumplings sit, the more likely they are to stick and tear when you pick them up.
Kaya toast- come visit Singapore next time you travel to Vietnam or South East Asia, and try the real thing.
Maybe I missed it but what drove you guys to visit England vs other European countries?
The uk was on Amanda's bucket list 🤙
No hot mustard with my shumai!? Dealbreaker
Otherwise great episode 🤙
Everyone go Mayfair for food
Any similarities/differences btwn HNL Chinatown, Vancouver & London food offerings....
Kinda ironic...seems like Chinatown food vendors $$$ more affordable than, say...Four Seasons duck?! Or is it just me?-lol
Hang on. We saw the pancakes and didn't see the crispy duck eating!
I take it back. It didn't play out in order!
The aromatic crispy duck with pancakes/ wraps is available in almost every Chinese restaurant or takeaway in the UL. I’d be surprised to find one which doesn’t serve it TBH. Love your channel, keep up the good work! 👍
UK not UL!
Mahalo! 🤙
of that quality? You're joking.
They need a warning on that salted egg yolk bun!!
😂😂😂 at least it didn’t burn our fingers!
@@AmandaFelixEats I'm happy it didn't 😂
So Felix is Vietnamese, what’s Amanda’s ethnic background?
Japanese/ Chinese/ Korean 👍
You guys look great! Have you been going to the gym? ❤
We've been trying! 👍 Mahalo! 🤙
Instead of pork floss, that’s duck floss - so dry it sounded like it was choking her
Europe does not allow a lot of red dye.
That makes a lot of sense! 💯
Boom means tree.
The peking duck was definitely on the drier side. It should not be that cooked through. Definitely something you should have eaten first as it dries out very quickly also.
That was the aromatic duck
I hope the food has gotten better, but 20 years ago it was apparant that the chinese had been ther for at least 5 generations.
Nice video but I want to see both reactions on the food not just one or the other, please.
20:32
Ngong lam
🤤🤤
That's a weird PK duck, and it looked dried. Great video regardless.
How does duck taste like chicken or pork? 😝
Aromatic duck or any duck dish shredded and put into that rolly dough thing is so underwhelming for me. I have yet to try one that’s actually good.
Tried it 2 years ago.
Not impressed with the taste and quality and pricing.
Melbourne and Sydney have better Dim Sum and cost a bit less.😂😂
The aromatic duck looks like a really poor version of it. It should not taste like Vietnamese rolls
I can eat everything except those chicken feet. Great vlog otherwise.
🤙
U jz have to eat 3 layer meat ....the fats nid to explode in ur mouth
